Encouraged by the success of her debut movie as a producer, Deepa Shree Niraula, told that she wants to produce another Nepali movie. Deepa revealed her desire during the nomination announcement ceremony of Box Office Film Award 2070. Deepa is one of the producers of hit movie ‘Chha Ekan Chha‘. Deepa’s partners in the movie are Deepak Raj Giri and Nirmal Sharma. Nirmal had produced other movies in the past but, ‘Chha Ekan Chha’ is the first movie he could recover his investment.

Although Deepa Shree had acted in various movies in the past and she is basically  a comedy actress, she hadn’t appeared in the hit movie. The movie was nominated for 17 different awards in this year’s Box Office Film Awards.

While Deepa was excited on the nomination and the success of the movie, another produer and Deepa’s co-actor in popular TV serial ‘Tito Satya‘, Deepak Raj Giri said that he is not that much hopeful in Nepali awards. In a facebook post, Deepak wrote, "I have read in newspapers about the nomination of my film ‘Chha Ekan Chha’. But, I don’t believe in Nepali awards. The super hit movies like ‘Loot‘ had won only two awards while the movie copied from Hindi movies won the most awards in the past. The viewers have already awarded us." Deepak also added that although he is not interested in award, he won’t refuse any awards either.

 

Deepak’s claim aren’t baseless. Every film awards in Nepal are accused of foul play and there is no governing body to investigate if the awards are fairly distributed.
