This is Bishnu Gautam from Tilganga-8, Kathmandu, Nepal. Dear friends I am going to share with you a very tragic story which rarely happens to the people.
I lost my two elder sons in different accidents. I and my family are among the most unfortunate beings having lost our precious gems. We had no other alternatives other than to accept the fact that our sons are no more and they will never come back.
My eldest son Kumar Gautam passed away in a motorcycle accident in front of Media Village on 27th December, 2008. He was a brilliant tourism entrepreneur and an energetic social worker. He was the Managing Director at Shuang Qui Tours Pvt. Ltd. After nine and half months of his accident, his younger Brother Balram Gautam also met the same fate on 3rd October, 2009 when his car met a serious accident. He was equally helpful, ever smiling and brilliant. He had gone to the US for his higher studies and studied at the Northwestern Oklahoma State University. He was the university topper in 2008 and was honored by numerous awards and honours.
Dear Friends, instead of crying and screaming on and on, we thought of founding a welfare and memorial foundation under the name of the mother Laxmi for her consolation. The name of our foundation is Laxmi Pratisthan. The motive behind the foundation is to do something constructive with positive approach and to help & support the needy and helpless people which we believe is the true tribute to our sons.
Our foundation is truly a humanitarian and welfare organization working for our satisfaction and self consolation. We are trying to see the faces of our departed sons in the faces of helpless and needy children and people. Consequently, since our foundation in 2066/09/02, we have carried out many welfare activities.
Despite our country Nepal is very beautiful and full of natural and human resources, the country ranks among the poorest in the world because of political problems, administrative weakness, and lack of vision. That’s why we want to work in the field of education in the remote areas to improve their living standards as Education is the foundation to development.
Until now, I have carried out all the welfare activities in my personal budget. As I am a middle class family man, I am looking for Donors to continue and run the welfare activities in the future.
I hope, being united, we can do something constructive. From your part, I hope you will provide us your support and help along with your valuable suggestions.
