Who is Ishani Shrestha?
Ishani Shrestha made a history not only by winning the Miss Nepal crown in 2013, she is the first and only Miss Nepal to reach to Top 10 position in Miss World. The Miss Nepal 2018, Shrinkhala Khatiwada made up to Top 12 – the second most successful Miss Nepal in the beauty contest. Both Shrinkhala and Ishani had won the “Beauty with a Purpose” titles in the Miss World pageant.
Ishani was a dental student at that time. Although she has quit Dental studies, she has continued her Smile project – the charity project that helped her win the Beauty with a Purpose title.
When asked about describing herself in three words, Ishani says she is “Persistent, Honest and a Perfectionist”
About her Beauty with purpose social work Ishani says, “We started Project Smile while preparing for the Miss World. It’s been a long journey. Project Smile focuses on women, children, health, and education. It’s a big part of my heart and my life so a lot of hard work, dedication and passion go towards it.”
She is still working on 100 Playgrounds by Project Smile. She is building playgrounds to provide a fun educational environment for children.
Ishani’s advice to others is : “Whatever you choose to do, work hard to be the best at it. Where do you see yourself in 10 years? I set short-term goals for 2 years and long for 5. Lots of plans and lots of dreams I am daring for. In the next 10 years, I hope that I achieve them and that I am content with the decisions I make now.”
