Film journalist Laxman Subedi has decided to start directing movies. Subedi has bee writing news about Nepali movies for the last 13 years and this is the first time he is going to be the subject of film news.

In a program organized in Kathmandu on July 16 Subedi announced the movie named ‘Mero Sathi’ – to be made on entertainment theme. Subedi told that he wanted to rectify the problems he sees in other’s movies.

‘Mero Sathi’ will be produced by director Shovit Basnet but, he won’t be directing the movie because of being busy in three other movies. Shovit is currently involved in ‘Janjeer’, ‘Jau Hida Pokhara’, and ‘Teacher’. ‘Mero Sathi’ will be made on Salon Films banner and will feature Salon Basnet, Rista Basnet, John Tamang, Shishir Poudel and others in main roles. The movie is written by Sushil Pangeni and the music will be composed by Tanka Budhathoki.

Salon and Rista’s debut movie, ‘Hostel‘ is going to be released in near future. Salon is the son of Shovit Basnet and Rista is the daughter of the actress who is known for her role of fake Hisila Yemi.
