The Miss Earth Nepal 2017, Rojina Shrestha, is currently participating Miss Earth beauty contest held in Philippines. The first runner up of Miss Nepal 2017 went to Philippines on October 7 and is preparing herself for the finale to be held on November 4. As a part of the contest, Shrestha posed in two-piece bikini recently. Here are some of the photos of the Nepali model in the contest.
The bikini round of the contest was held during the press presentation held at Diamond Hotel. Although Miss World, has removed bikini rounds a few years ago, Miss Earth continues to include bikini round it its competition.
About Miss Earth
Miss Earth is an annual international beauty pageant promoting environmental awareness. The environmental-themed beauty contest is one of the few top-ranked beauty contests in the world.
Current Miss Earth is the 17 edition of the beauty contest aiming at helping the Earth’s environment by the beauty contest. The contestants in the contest are selected based on the national beauty contest held in different country and each contestants represent the country they belong to.
This year’s theme is ‘Heroine Fighting Climate Change’. The Miss Earth 2016, Katherine Espín of Ecuador will hand over the crown to the new winner on the finale to be held on November 4.
Nepali contestants in Miss Earth
The first Nepali representative to Miss Earth was Nira Gautam, who participated in Miss Earth 2002. In 2004, the second runner up of Miss Nepal, Anita Gurung, was sent to represent Nepal. In 2005, the first runner up, Shaovana Shrestha, represented Nepal. The next year, the second runner up, Ayushma Pokharel participated in Miss Earth 2006. Last year, in 2016, Roshni Khatri had represented Nepal in the contest. She had won the silver medal in Resort Wear competition.
