Miss Tibet 2010 – Tenzin Norzom

Tenzin Norzom, 23, was crowned the new Kingfisher Miss Tibet 2010 in an event held at Tibetan Institute of Performing Arts on June 6, 2010. Miss Norzom holds a Shastri degree (equivalent to Bachelor of Arts in Buddhist Philosophy) from Varanasi, India.

Last year’s Miss Tibet Tenzin Choezom crowned Norzom as the new Miss Tibet and presented a scholarship cheque of Rs. 100,000.

The first runner-up Yangchen Metok, 19, received a prize of Rs. 50,000. Metok hails from Dharamsala and she came to india in 2008 from Tibet.

Miss Tibet 2010 kicked off with swimsuit round of 4 contestants

The ninth edition of the Miss Tibet Beauty Pageant 2010 kicked off with the swimsuit round on Friday (June 4, 2010), held at Funky Town in Dharamshala, India.

There are only four participants in the contest.

Three judges checked the participant’s figure, confidence, poise and presentation in the swimsuit round.

Is Tibet in India?

What would you say if Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA) doesn’t know or care about the country’s geography? That is what happened in Nepal. A calendar spotted in a sinior ministry official’s office told that the Mt. Everest is located in Nepal – India border. Mt. Everest is situated in Nepal at the border of Nepal and Tibet – it sure is written below in small letters. Does that mean Tibet is in India?

It is to be noted that the calendar was manufacturered by an India based company.

India had been claiming Buddha was born in India and now they can claim Mt. Everest too. (source)
