The Missing Women
It is good to see the talents like Gaurika Singh and Sipora Gurung in the Top 10 list. But, I think, the list misses some of the Nepali women who had been very attractive because of their good deeds in their respective fields:
- Teriya Magar – The DID Little Masters winner and the winner of the 9th Jhalak Dikhala Ja Indian reality TV show dance competition.
- Mira Rai – The Adventurer of the year winner of the National Geographic Channel – Ultra marathon runner.
- Kunjana Ghimire, Suntali – The social worker comedy actress who has teamed up with her husband to construct residences for those who can’t build them themselves.
- Puspa Basnet – The social worker Puspa Basnet was awarded the CNN Hero of the decade for her good deeds in social work.
Those who were close but couldn’t make it to the top 10 list were Rekha Thapa, Barsha Raut, Melina Rai, and Astha Raut. The number one woman a few years ago, Rekha Thapa, missed the entire list for the two consecutive years – last year and this year. Rekha’s films aren’t doing well either. That is a clear indication that she has to come up with something innovative and important if she wants to be relevant in the entertainment field. Similarly, actress Karishma Manandhar hasn’t also come close to be mentioned in the list.
Barsha Raut, Melina Rai and Astha Raut have huge potential to be featured in the list in coming days.
