According to reports, 70 percent shooting of the movie is completed by Nigam Shrstha. The owner of Durgesh Films, Sunil Rawal, is known for is bad relationship with his crew members. Now, the new director of the movie will be Bikram Singh. Bikram Singh is one of the artists in the movie and he is also the script writer of the movie.
The producer and the director of the movie haven’t told the reason behind the change in the crew member. Sunil Rawal has told that he doesn’t want to talk about the issue and the director Shrestha couldn’t be contacted. According to rumours, Nigam had shown bad behaviour toward one of the team members. The nature and the level of bad behaviour is not known.
Miss Nepal 2012 and ‘Gajalu’ debut actress Shristi Shrestha met with an accident and was admitted to a hospital in Kathmandu. Shristi later confirmed the accident by sharing a photo of herself with a cast on her hand.
As expected, the accident caused various types of rumours in the film industry. Let me list out the rumours that went around:
- Shristi tried to commit suicide. The reason was told to be the issues with the ‘Lahure’ team. Shristi is currently shooting for her next movie ‘Lahure’ being produced by Sunil Rawal. (may be untrue)
- It is rumoured that there was an issue between the producer, Durgesh Banner (Sunil Rawal) and the director Nigam Shrestha. Shristi was not happy when the producers decided to kick the director of Nigam out of the film team. The movie is in the last stage of shooting and removal of the director from the team is yet to be confirmed.(unconfirmed)
- Shristi met with life-threatening accident. (not true)

The Missing Women
It is good to see the talents like Gaurika Singh and Sipora Gurung in the Top 10 list. But, I think, the list misses some of the Nepali women who had been very attractive because of their good deeds in their respective fields:
I wrote an article last year – 7 NRN Actresses in Nepali movies, Shristi Shrestha to Meruna Magar. Now, when I go back and read the article, I realize that I had failed to define what NRN actually mean. That is a very crucial factor to determine who is NRN and who is not.
Who is a Non Resident Nepali (NRN) actress?
The term Non Resident Nepali (NRN) is very loosely used in practice. Nepali citizen who go temporarily to foreign countries to work or study are often referred as NRN. If that were the case a lot of Nepali actresses can be termed NRN because, actress Priyanka Karki, Nisha Adhikari, Ashishma Nakarmi etc. had studied in the USA and had lived there for a while. Reecha Sharma had also gone to a foreign country for a training. A lot of other actresses have gone to India for training or work. We have a lot of Indian actresses in Nepali film industry. We don’t consider actresses like Niruta Singh, Tripti Naadkar, or Sushmita KC as foreign or NRN actresses, although they have their parental home in India and might be carrying an Indian passport.

A video report with the clips of their crowning moments:
It is no secret that Saugat Malla (Haku Kale) and Miss Nepal 2012 Shristi Shrestha are seeing each other. A while ago, Saugat Malla had also gone to the police to complain about the model, Soni KC, who had threatened to harm Shristi for stealing Saugat from her. The incident might have strengthened the bond between Saugat and Shristi. The proof was seen at the beautiful location in Mugu – Rara Lake.
In an exclusive report, Saugat Malla and Shristi Shrestha were spotted in Rara lake. They were living in Danfe Lodge for four days. After returning back from the trip, Shristi wrote in her instagram post, “Thank you Mugu for the most needed break. It has been absolutely rejuvenating.”
According to the source in Rara, they were trying to keep themselves away from the general public. While Shristi Shrestha was always seen wearing cap and a mask to hide her face, Saugat Malla had also done his best to hide himself in his cap. In Danfe lodge, Shristi and Saugat had rented the room overlooking the lake and lived mostly inside the room. They usually order the food in their room so, they didn’t event have to get out of the room for eating.
The triangular love story between Saugat Malla, Shristi Shrestha and Soni KC has taken a new twist. In a report, Saugat Malla has lodged a complaint against Soni KC, the model who reportedly was having an affair with Saugat Malla before.
These days there is a rumour of affair between Saugat Malla, the Haku Kale of ‘Loot’ and Shristi Shrestha, the ‘Gajalu’ debut actress. After such report, Soni had started posting tragic comments in her Facebook page. Lately, she is reportedly being aggressive against Shristi Shrestha. In phone conversation with Saugat Malla, Soni had uttered threats including bodily harms by throwing acid on Shristi to as extreme as killing.
Saugat has told that he has recorded the call of Soni and believes she is serious in her threats.
Nepali Movie – Bhai Tika
Starring – Shristi Shrestha, Ashuthosh Basnyat, Dikshanta Sharama, Jenas Banjara
Director – Sisan Baniya
About ‘Bhai Tika’
The Nepali short movie ‘Bhai Tika’ is about the relationship between brothers and sisters in the contest of Nepali festival Tihar. The 12 minutes long movie shows the childhood memories of the relationship between brothers and sisters.
The movie is told to be the first movie in a series of short movies to be produced by an entertainment department of Chaudhary Group. In the Past CG had produced a number of movies including ‘Visa Girl’. It is told that short movies will be released every two weeks. under the CG Entertainment banner. The short films are told to be made on the stories on social issues as well as entertainment. There had been a flood of vulgar movies in the name of short films. I hope a reputable group’s entry in the making of short movies will help in creating a market for such movies in coming days.

The entries of Non Resident Nepali (NRN) actresses in the Nepali movie industry is a new trend. So far, there are seven Nepali film actresses who have their permanent homes abroad. If India is to be considered foreign and residents in India are to be considered NRN, the number can go up considerably. But, I am excluding residents of South Asia for this article. I think, Nepali communities in India like Sikkim and Darjeeling are not foreign. We have never thought Niruta Singh, Tripti Naadkar, Tulsi Ghimire, or Sushmita KC as foreign actresses although they have their parental home in India.
All of these NRN actresses are Nepali actresses and, I have no intention to alienate them. I wish more NRN actors and actress enter Nepali movie industry. A video report on 7 NRN actresses:
Let me discuss in detail about each of the 7 actresses:
Actress Prapti Ghimire, a resident of Germany, debuted in ‘Kathmandu’. Prapti had also won a debut actress award at that time. But, after ‘Kathmandu’ she didn’t return back to the Nepali movie industry.

There had be various rumours about their relationship and their meet-ups. Shristi Shrestha has responded to all of those rumours in a text-interview published in an online magazine.
About Shristi Shrestha going to meet Saugat Malla at the shooting location in Pokhara:
Shristi admitted the incident of her meeting Saugat Malla in Pokhara. But, she added, it was not a personal meeting. It so happened that Shristi was in Pokhara for the promotion of her debut movie ‘Gajalu’ and Saugat was in the shooting location in the same place. Being a friend, Shristi went to meet him. She added, the ‘Gajalu’ team was also with her when she met Saugat Malla in Pokhara. Continue reading
Rumours are just rumours, totally unreliable. When facts are doctored and altered to support the rumour, the rumour’s reliability goes down the drain. That is what has happened to the recent rumour of affair between Miss Nepal 2012, Shristi Shrestha and Haku Kale of ‘Loot’, Saugat Malla. Watch the following video report on what had happened:
I read a gossip article in an online film-magazine that Saugat Malla and Shristi Shrestha were seen together watching ‘Jhumkee’. The report says that they had tried their best to keep themselves from the prying eyes. The photo shared in the report doesn’t show faces and there is no other proof on the claim. I would have believed in the report if the second photo of the report weren’t doctored.
A model, Aditi Budhathoki, is selected to be featured opposite to Anmol KC in his upcoming movie ‘Kri’. With the selection of a new actress in the movie, Anmol KC has worked with a new entry actress in every movies he has been featured so far. Read a detailed report on actress – journalist controversies.
A press meet was organized to tell about the movie releasing this Friday, ‘Sanjog’. In the event, the actress Sushma Karki got angry by the question of a journalist. The question was about Sushma’s previous release movie ‘Chalechha Batas Sustari’. The movie released targeting the Valentine Day of 2016 failed to attract viewers while the other two movies released on the same date – ‘Classic’ and ‘Premgeet’ became hit movies.
In the press meet, Sushma claimed that ‘Chalechha Batas Sustari’ was a hit movie. She also asked the journalists to do proper homework before asking her questions. She told, “I don’t need to tell what I am doing. It is your job to find out what I am doing.”
