On this Friday (June 2, 2017) two new Nepali movies were released – record breaking film ‘Jaalo’ and Takme Budha’s movie ‘Rato Ghar’. These two films are of different genres – one is a crime thriller and another is a comedy film. It is a coincidence that both the movies feature a common actress – Menuka Pradhan.
About ‘Rato Ghar’
The production debut of well known comedy actor, Wilson Bikram Rai (Takme Budha), ‘Rato Ghar’ is a comedy movie. The comedy movie made on a gangster story was premiered a day before release on Wednesday. Directed by Suraj Subba Nalbo features Wilson Bikram Rai, Samyam Puri, Gaurav Pahadi, Menuka Pradhan, Bibek Shrestha, Anurag Kunwar and Mala Limbu. The movie is produced jointly by Man Him Films and Tamke Production banners. The movie is presented by Nikesh Limbu and produced by Wilson Bikram Rai.
The movie features the music and lyrics of Mahesh Khadka. The cinematographer os the movie is Hari Ghale Lama. ‘Rato Ghar’ is subtitled ‘Kalo Kaam Garneko Seto Katha’ (loosely traslates into – ‘The white story of those who do black deeds.’)

About ‘Jaalo’
The movie ‘Jaalo’ is promoted as a record breaking, ‘one shot’ film. The movie directed by Araj Keshav Giri was the first Nepali movie to be shot in a single shot. Araj Keshav is a well known singer, musician, actor and a director. He had previously directed a popular film ‘Birkhe Lai Chinchhas’ (watch ‘Birkhe lai Chinchhas’ here).
In the experimental movie, the director Giri has shot two movies ‘Jaalo’ and ‘Jaalo Returns’. The movie produced by Mohit Munal is expected to set the world record of being the world’s longest movie shot in one shot. The movie was shoot in such a way that the camera was rolling from the start of the movie to the end of the movie. The release date of the sequel of the movie – ‘Jaalo Returns,’ is yet to be announced.
The movie features Nir Shah, Anoop Bikram Shahi, Rabindra Khadka, Raymon Das Shrestha, Nirajan Pradhan, Menuka Pradhan and Laxmi Giri. The cinematographer of the movie is Hari Lama Ghale.
