A presentation of Prem Subba for Sinai Enterprise banner, ‘Nishani’ is a film by Vinod Sereng. Sereng is the writer and the director of the movie produced by Saroj Bhandari and Lalita Sereng Dhaubadel. The movie is made on the story of a Gurkha army in Kargil war – a war between India and Pakistan. Prashant Tamang is featured as a Gurkha army personnel. The movie had applied to be considered to represent Nepal in the Oscar Award (read more about the 4 films that applied in 2015).
The movie is coproduced by Kishor Dungmali Rai and edited by Bipin Malla and Suraj Shrestha. The cinematographer is Yubaraj Rai, action by Janak Gurung and music is composed by BB Anuragi. Nhyoo Bajracharya has composed the background score of the movie, choreographer is Gobinda Rai and sound design and mixing is done by Sunaya Maan Shrestha. The movie was released in 2014.
For the Oscar Awards to be held in February, four Nepali movies have applied to be selected to represent Nepal in the Best Foreign Language Film category. The application from the makers of Sunpani, Nishani, Bhimdatta and Talakjung VS Tulke was received to the Film Development Board, Nepal.
Application was called from the movies released between Ashoj 15, 2071 to Bhadra 14, 2072 BS to apply for the consideration to send to the Oscar awards in the USA. A five-members Oscar Award Selection Committee will evaluate the applications and send the most appropriate movie to the Oscar Awards selection committee.
A premier show of upcoming movie ‘Nishani’ was held in Hetauda and Kathamndu. The movie features Prashant Tamang and Anu Gurung in lead roles. In the premier held in Kathmandu film producers, directors and film artists were invited. The show in Hetauda was held for the film journalists.
‘Nishani’ is released in theater on Friday was premiered in Q’s Cinemas at Rising Mall in Kathmandu. The movie is made on the story of Gurkha army in Kargil war. Prashant Tamang is featured as a Gurkha army personnel in the movie.
