The sequel of hit movie, ‘A Mero Hajur’, titled ‘A Mero Hajur 2’ was released in theatres all over Nepal on Friday, September 1, 2017. The movie featuring Samragyee RL Shah and Salinman Baniya marks the debut of actress Jharana Thapa as a film director. Produced by Jharana’s husband, Sunil Kumar Thapa, the movie is made under Suhana Films banner.
The movie producers held a premier show of the movie on Thursday. The viewers in the show had given positive response in terms of the acting of the artists and the story. With Samragyee and Salinman, other artists in the movie include Salon Basnet, Amar Subedi, Suman Poudel and others.

The featuring Dayahang Rai, Priyanka Karki, Arjun Jung Shahi, A Gurung, Raj Katuwal and Nirjan Thapa in main role, is about the conflict between people in search of power and materials. The movie directed by Dev Kumar Shresta is a crime story featuring the night life of Kathmandu. The movie marks the debut of Raj Katuwal and Nirjan Thapa in the Nepali film industry.
On Friday, March 31, 2017 the only Nepali movie released in theatre is ‘Palash’. The movie featuring actress Rekha Thapa in the role of a prostitute is directed by Subash Koirala. Rekha Thapa romances with Kameshowr Churasiya.

A day before the release, the movie was premiered among the film industry personalities and journalists. The only film team member unavailable in the premier was the director Subash Koirala. According to the viewers, the first half of the movie is good but, the second half is not as good as the first half.
Two new movies have released in theaters in Nepal on Friday, December 2, 2016. Laxhu Gautam’s movie ‘Ta Ma ra U’ and Nabin Awal’s ‘Bijuli Machine’.
The movie ‘Bijuli Machine’ is made on the concept that Nepali people are facing the problem of electricity despite of the fact that the country is rich in water resources for hydro electricity production. The movie made on a science fiction theme is about the investigation and research on the production of electricity.
The record breaking Nepali movie ‘Chhakka Panja’ is setting another new record. The movie is being screened in 7 different theatres in 6 cities in the United Arab Emeritus (UAE) starting November 10. The movie is being screened in the UAE cities like Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Al Ain, Ajman, Fujairah, and Ras Al Khaimah.
The movie is being screened in association with the local distributor of the movie. A Nepali company Concept Vision Film Production and Distributors had started the distribution of Nepali movies in UAE in October 14, 2016. The first Nepali movie released in UAE was ‘Bir Bikram’.
The Nepali movies in UAE are targeted to the foreign worker Nepali people living in the UAE. In addition to UAE, Nepali movies are expected to be released in other Arab countries including Qatar, Bahrain and Oman. Process of releasing Nepali movies in Thailand has also started.

Comedy actress Deepa Shree Niraula’s directoral debut movie ‘Chhakka Panja’ has already celebrated 51 days and is still running in many theatres in Nepal. The movie features Deepak Raj Giri, Priyanka Karki, Shivahari Poudel, Kedar Ghimire, Jitu Nepal, Buddhi Tamang, Barsha Raut, Namrata Sapkota among others.
On this Friday, October 28, 2016 two new movies were released in theatre – Yogesh Ghimire’s ’Radha’ and Shiva Sharma’s ‘Paradeshiko Umanga’ and Hikmat Bista’s ‘The Winner’. The movies are expecting a high turnout in theatre on the holiday season of Tihar.
The movie featuring Jiwan Luitel and Sanchita Luitel in leading role is a love story movie. The characters meet during a bus travel and then come close. The movie is about a problem in their relationship. The movie features the music of Basanta Sapkota, direction of Yogesh Ghimire, action of Himal KC, choreography of Kabiraj Gahatraj, editing of Arjun GC and Milan Shreatha, cinematography of Man Krishna Shrestha and script of Pradeep Bhardwoj.

This week, on Friday September 30, new Nepali movie ‘Safar’ is releasing in theatre. It has been some weeks, ‘Chhaka Panja’ is keeping its holdover and the movies released last week weren’t able to attract viewers in their shows. The business of ‘Safar’ is also expected to be affected by the success of ‘Chhaka Panja’.
Safar, a movie about three best friends, is directed and edited by Ashish Shrestha. The movie featuring Manan Sapkota, Sanjay Gupta, Shibir Pokharel, and Nurja Shrestha in lead roles is made under Yuva Films banner. The story of the movie is written and produced by Keshav Khadka. The cinematographer of the movie is Jacob Berardi, music by Satya-Swaroop, Dharmendra Sewan, and Ujjawal Meghi Gurung. The background score is prepared by Shailesh Shrestha, lyrics are written by Uttam Bhaukajee, Arjun Subedi and Ujjwal Meghi Gurung.
The producer and the director of ‘Jaya Parshuram’ has told that the movie will release as scheduled. In a press meet held on Thursday, he told that the release will be as scheduled. He however didn’t mention about the court order. Watch a video report:

Jaya Parsuram controversy, Biraj Bhatt comeback movie not releasing this Friday?
The comeback movie of action star Biraj Bhatt is facing a legal dispute two days before the release of the movie. On August 9, 2016, Patan District Court ordered the parties involved to stop the release of the movie and negotiate on the next step. If honoured, the last minute order of the court will nullify the promotional effort of the team.
This week three new Nepali movies have released. Moives released on August 5, 2016 are ‘Ek Pal’, ‘Pratibimba’ and ‘Suntalilai Bhagai Lagyo Jhilkele’. Two of the movies feature actress Jenisha KC in main role.

Two new Nepali movies are released on this Friday – on July 29, 2016. Sabin Shrestha / Sushma Karki starrer ‘Sanjog’ is competing with a comedy genre movie ‘Relimai’. One movie is named Sanjog and the other has the lead actor named Sanjog.
The movie made on the story of the director Bed Prasad Bhurtel, ‘Sanjog’ is made on a triangular love story. The movie featuring Sabin Shrestha, Prajwol Giri and Sushma Karki was shot two years ago. This week, on June 10, 2016, one of the most awaited movies, ‘Gajalu’ has released in theater. The movie directed Hemraj BC features Miss Nepal 2012, Shristi Shrestha, Anmol KC, Salon Basnet, Gaurav Pahadi, Menuka Paradhan in leading roles. The movie produced by Rohit Basnet is made on the story of the living goddess ‘Kumari’ tradition in Nepal.

The moves are targeted to different types of viewers. ‘Chhesko’ introduces Archana Paneru in Nepali movie industry and is targeted to the viewers who are looking for glamour in the movies. In the other hand ‘Kalo Pothi’ is targeted to the serious viewers who want quality story and story presentation.
The movie ‘Kalo Pothi’ is an award winning movie that had participated in a lot of film festivals and had won various awards. Starting with the script (script had won Rs. 5.5 million) the movie was selected in various prestigious film festivals including Busan Film Festival and Venice Film Festival. It had also won the Critics Week Award in Venice Film Festival.

Two movies were released last Friday (I am a couple of days late this week to update on the Friday release). The movie released this week (on May 27, 2016) were director Ramesh Bogati’s movie ‘Kina Garen Maya’ and director Raju Aryal’s movie ‘Action’.
The movie ‘Action’ directed by Raju Aryal features the actor who used to be known by the title Angry Young Man, Shiva Shrestha. Although pretty old for the role, he is again featured in action role in the movie released last Friday. The movie features the clash of two different generations. The leader of the first generation is Shiva Shrestha and the second generation is represented by Pramod Deep. Actress Jenisha KC is also featured in leading role in the movie.

The movie directed by Aakash Adhikari introduces actor Aryan Adhikari and actress Marika Pokharel in the nepali movie industry. The movie also features Gauri Malla, Mithila Sharma, Prajwal Sujal Giri, Suren Basel and others.
