The historical biopic movie is made on the life of the revolutionary leader, Bhimdutt Pant. The movie directed by Himgyap Lama â€˜Tasiâ€™ features Nawal Nepal in the role of Bhimdatta. Other artists include Nisha Adhikari, Sumina Ghimire, Ramesh Budhathoki, Laya Sangaraula, Rabi Giri etc. The movie is made under the banner of Golden Eye Films. It is shot in the locations in the Western part of Nepal – the place Bhimdutt used to live and work. The cinematographer of the film is Bisnu Kalpit, story is written by Mani Thapa, and script by Shivam Adhikari.
The winners of the Digital Cine Award 2072, organized by Chhaya Chhabi Creation was announced in a special program held in Kathmandu on December 21, 2015. In the award ceremony, the movie ‘November Rain’ bagged the most award – a total of eight awards including the best actors, best actress, best director awards.
While ‘November Rain’ became the best movie, ‘Bhimdatta’ was awarded the Critics Award and ‘Sunpani’ became the Special Film. Late actor Shree Krishna Shrestha‘s movie ‘Kohinoor’ was awarded the public choice award. Producer and film distributor Gopal Kayastha and actress Gauri Malla were awarded with Chhaya Chhabi Film Artist honor award. Film journalist Dabbu Chhetri was awarded the Chhaya Chhabi Film Journalism Award of value Rs. 7,777.

For the Oscar Awards to be held in February, four Nepali movies have applied to be selected to represent Nepal in the Best Foreign Language Film category. The application from the makers of Sunpani, Nishani, Bhimdatta and Talakjung VS Tulke was received to the Film Development Board, Nepal.
Application was called from the movies released between Ashoj 15, 2071 to Bhadra 14, 2072 BS to apply for the consideration to send to the Oscar awards in the USA. A five-members Oscar Award Selection Committee will evaluate the applications and send the most appropriate movie to the Oscar Awards selection committee.
This Friday, three more Nepali movies are being released in theater. A historical bio-pic ‘Bhhimdutta’, a suspense thriller ‘Zhigrana’ and a social drama film ‘Punarjanma’ are releasing in theaters all over Nepal. All three movies are considered movies with potential.
The movies are targeted to different audiences. ‘Bhimdatta’ is targeted to audience interested in political issues and historical events. The movie got an ‘UA’ certificate. ‘Zhigrana’ got an ‘A’ certificate and is targeted to the viewers interested in suspense and thriller in movies. ‘Punarjanma’ is suitable for all types of audience with an ‘U’ certificate. The movie appeals to the viewers who like family drama.
