D Cine Awards 2015, November Rain wins the most award (full list)

The winners of the Digital Cine Award 2072, organized by Chhaya Chhabi Creation was announced in a special program held in Kathmandu on December 21, 2015. In the award ceremony, the movie ‘November Rain’ bagged the most award – a total of eight awards including the best actors, best actress, best director awards.

While ‘November Rain’ became the best movie, ‘Bhimdatta’ was awarded the Critics Award and ‘Sunpani’ became the Special Film. Late actor Shree Krishna Shrestha‘s movie ‘Kohinoor’ was awarded the public choice award. Producer and film distributor Gopal Kayastha and actress Gauri Malla were awarded with Chhaya Chhabi Film Artist honor award. Film journalist Dabbu Chhetri was awarded the Chhaya Chhabi Film Journalism Award of value Rs. 7,777.

Four Nepali movies apply to participate in Oscar Awards, foreign film category

For the Oscar Awards to be held in February, four Nepali movies have applied to be selected to represent Nepal in the Best Foreign Language Film category. The application from the makers of Sunpani, Nishani, Bhimdatta and Talakjung VS Tulke was received to the Film Development Board, Nepal.

Application was called from the movies released between Ashoj 15, 2071 to Bhadra 14, 2072 BS to apply for the consideration to send to the Oscar awards in the USA. A five-members Oscar Award Selection Committee will evaluate the applications and send the most appropriate movie to the Oscar Awards selection committee.

Fours new films in theater, Escape, Rath, Logne Manche and Sunpani

It is no secret that the Nepali film market is limited and there are not many viewers of Nepali films. Because of the competition created by the high budget Bollywood and Hollywood films, Nepali films don’t have that big viewer base for a lot of Nepali films. In this context, release of multiple Nepali films every week is scary for the genuine film producers.

This week, 4 new films are releasing in theater. Whatever may be the case, such a release doesn’t make any business sense. Dividing the viewers in a lot of films don’t help the film industry.

Escape

The movie made on the story of a person who has overcome the indulgence of drugs and aim to change the social equation. The movie featuring Pradeep Khadka and Reema Bishowkarma is directed by Ananta Ghimire.
