Little Star and Little Champ 2010 held in Pokhara

samir-simran-little-star Little Star Talent Contest 2010 was organized by The Looks Home today (on August 14, 2010). The winners were Simran Tamang and Samir Gurung. Sachitra Gurung and Sama Parajuli were first and second runner-ups among girls. Among boys, Dipen Gurung and Nikesh Gurung were first and second runner ups. The event was held for the kids btween 6 and 13 years of age. There were 10 boys and 22 girls contesting for the title.

That was not all. Last week, another kid’s contest was held in Pokhara. The last week’s contest title itself, ‘Little Champ 2010’ was copied from a popular Indian TV show "sa re ga ma pa Little Champ 2010". The contest was held among the kids aged between 6 and 12 years (it is the same target group as that of Little Star).

Organizing talent shows of kids can’t be compared with beauty contests as such contests have positive impacts on the kids. But, that doesn’t mean the title itself should be copied from others or there should be several contests for the same age group and similar nature every week?

  • The event was held on 7 August, 2010, Saturday
  • The venue was Pokhara City Hall, and
  • The contest was organized by Luxmee & Sharda (Looks like, they don’t even have a registered organization)

Some question arise when two similar contests are held just a week apart. Both of them are for local people of Pokhara. They have kids of same age group contesting for the title.

  • Does that show the lack of coordination between the organizers?
  • Or, is it the conspiracy to let the organizer’s kids win the contests?
  • Are they doing business?

I searched in the internet to find out who won the title but couldn’t find

The organizers of Little Star Talent Show have started the preparation of Miss Culture 2010 in which the contestants aged between 16 and 25 years will participate.

Don’t you think these contests fit in the conspiracy theory I talked about a short while ago?
