The list of Top 10 movies published in Saptahik weekly sound like a joke. Out of 85 movies released in the year 2073, there weren’t enough hit movies to fill the list. The weekly has dumped movie names despite the failure of the movies to win the hearts of the viewers. According to the report only six movies had made profit in the year. Four more movies could do a breakeven business.
After reviewing the list, I think the list could have been titled ‘Top 5 Movies of the year’. When there aren’t enough movies, they shouldn’t have created the list and fill it with unsuccessful movies. Let me review each movies in the list.
The first in the list ‘Chhakka Panja’ is a truly successful movie of the year. It did make record breaking business. So, first position of the movie makes sense. You can watch ‘Chhakka Panja’ here.
The second in the list is ‘Loot 2’. The sequel of the previous superhit movie ‘Loot’ also did a good business although many found it less fulfilling than the original movies. After ‘Chhakka Panja’, ‘Loot 2’ was made good impression to the viewers. (Watch the original ‘Loot’ here)
The third in the list ‘Jatra’ was another comedy movie and a successful one. Many thought that the movie was better than ‘Chhakka Panja’. But, based on the business, ‘Jatra’ has been less successful between the two.
The fourth movie in the list is ‘Gajalu’. The movie featuring Anmol KC and Shristi Shrestha was liked by viewers. The movie marks the fourth movie of Anmol KC – all of them were successful movies. Watch ‘Gajalu’ here.
The fifth in the list is ‘Purano Dunga’. The movie by the director of hit movies ‘Kabaddi’ and ‘Kabaddi Kabaddi’ , Ram Babu Gurung’s movie ‘Purano Dhunga’Â didn’t get a positive reviews. Because of the popularity of the song and because of Dayahang Rai and Priyanka Karki, the movie did a normal business. That doesn’t qualify the movie to be in the top 10 list.
The sixth movie in the list is ‘Kako Pothi’. An art movie, featured in a number of internationl festivals and the winner of various award got a lot of hype. The movie was discussed a lot in social media. But, the movie failed to recover the investment.
The seventh movie in the list is ‘Bir Bikram’ wasn’t a hit movie either. The movie gained more popularity after its release in YouTube. Watch ‘Bir Bikram’ here.
The eighth movie in the list is ‘Lappan Chhapan’. The movie still in theatre also got negative reviews. Because of well known actors, the movie has recovered the investment even before the release of the movie.
The ninth movie ‘Chapali Height 2’ and the tenth movie ‘Radha’ were not successful movies.
