This is probably one of the best movies of the veteran director Tulsi Ghimire. In an interview, Tulsi Ghimire told that, he made this movie to present this movie as the gift (Dakshina) to his Guru whom he had promised to make ten Nepali movies and then go to Bollywood. Tulsi however didn’t left Nepali movie industry and continue making other Nepali movies.

  1. Dakshina is the greatest movie in Nepali film history, today’s directors must learn from it, when I watched this film for the first time I couldn’t believe that I could fall in love with Nepali movie. Other than that, I totally agree with this list, all of these ten movies are the best in Nepali film industry. Kagbeni, Balidaan, Dakshina, these are the kind of movies that I love most, and hope such masterpiece would be made again in Nepal, but looks like our film industry will never produce such masterpiece again.
