I think, ‘Kagbeni’ is one of the Top 10 must watch Nepali movies for it’s uniqueness in story telling and quality. As, the movie is an art movie, those looking for an entertaining story might not find it appealing.

Star Cast of ‘Kagbeni’

‘Kagbeni’ features Saugat Malla and Deeya Maskey in leading roles. Saugat Malla became popular as Haku Kale, a character in super hit movie ‘Loot’. The actor Saugat Malla is considered one of the best actors of the Nepali film industry. Apart from being a good actor, Malla is also in top of the news because of his affair with ex-Miss Nepal and the actress of ‘Gajalu’, Shristi Shrestha.

The actress Deeya Maskey is also a well known theatre actress. As both Saugat and Deeya have theatre background, they have justified the character they are featured in. Diya is known for controversial statements in interviews. She is married to Anup Baral, a well known actor and theatre play director. Well known singer Nima Rumba is also an attraction of the movie. Well known journalist, Bhusan Dahal, had directed the critically acclaimed movie. Apart from directing music videos, Dahal, hasn’t directed another movie after the 2008 release film. After the release of "Sano Sansar" and "Kagbeni", Nepali movies had stepped in new direction creating a sharp contrast between the two groups of film makers.
