The place Okhaldhunga Bazaar and the district is named after an Okhal shaped stone. The stone is preserved by constructing a brick wall around it, in a shape of an Okhal.

Before the construction of Okhaldhunga – Katari road, the only means of transportation to the district was airplane (apart from walking from Katari of Udaypur). Rumjhatar airport made on a natural slope doesn’t even
have a gravel surface.

The first Miss Dhimal crown goes to Anu Dhimal

Anu Dhimal of Birtamod became the first one to be crowned with Miss Dhimal. The beauty contest of Miss Dhimal was organized for the first time in Dhulabari on Saturday by Dhimal Yuba Samaj Samiti. Anu also won the title of Best Personality and Best Figure.

Alisa Dhimal became the First Runner up and Sumitra Dhimal became the Second Runner up. Likewise, other titles and their winners are:

Komal Oli to act in a ‘Hot and Spicy’ role in Dubdaba

A journalist / news reader Komal Oli has been a successful singer. Now, after two decades of singing, the unmarried singer is going to venture in a new field, acting.

In a press meet organized in Kathmandu, the producers of upcoming movie "Dabdaba" have told that Komal Oli will be featured in a special role. The movie to be written and directed by M.S. Agraj will also feature a song by Komal. The director told that Komal will be featured in a "Hot and Spicy" role.
