About ‘Chokho Maya’

A presentation of Sagun Films, ‘Chokho Maya’ is produced jointly by Jyoti Rana and Tirtha Narayan Maharjan. The story of the movie is written by the director, Raj Bikram Shah. Playback singers in the movie are Prakash Shrestha, Sukmit Gurung, Sushma Shrestha, Kabita Krishnamurti, Sadhana Sargam and Shakti Ballav.

Nepal Film Day 2011 to be addressed by PM, Rajesh Hamal and Rekha

The Nepal Film Board has unveiled the details of the celebration of Nepal Film Day on September 18, 2011 (Asoj 1, 2068 BS). In the event will start with a special music in the morning (Prabhat feri), various programs in the day and a party in the evening. All the theaters accross Nepal will do Dipawali by lighting lights and fireworks.  The day is also planned to be celebrated as a weekly program by forming a committee to manage it.

The current schedule is to ask the new prime minister Baburam Bhattarai to address the program. The leading actor and actress Rajesh Hamal and Rekha Thapa are also scheduled address the program.   Continue reading

Nir Shah making a movie on Masan by Gopalprasad Rimal

The actor and director Nir Shah has started making an art movie, based on the story of late Gopalprasad Rimal’s story "Masan". Gopal Prasad is a noted poet and playwright who ushered in a new era in Nepali literature. The drama, Masan is also taught as one of the electives in schools in Nepal and India.

The shooting of the movie has started on Ashad 1, 2068. Nir Shah had been preparing the set, representing the old setting of the story, for the movie.
