A presentation of Kisan Pokharel for Rodi Films banner, Nepali movie ‘Aago’ was a controversial movie. The government wasn’t happy by the movie so, it had seized the photo-negative of movie. The movie was converted into digital format. ‘Aago’ became super hit movie of its time. To cash the popularity and success of the movie it’s sequel movie ‘Aago 2’ was also made and was released in January 2015. But, the sequel wasn’t that successful in winning the hearts of the viewers.

The movie ‘Jaljala’ is about the Maoist civil war and is a presentation of The Revolutionary Cine Concern. It is sponsored by Maoists and the story of the Maoist war in Nepal and a fighter named Jaljala was made into a movie to justify the civil war. The leading actress Rekha Thapa featured as the leading lady in the movie became close to the Maoist leaders while doing the film. She later joined the party. But, her political journey was cut short when she left the party to join Rastriya Prajatantra Party. During the election, Rekha and Ayush were also featured in a political song used for the promotion of the party candidates.
The Maoist leader Nandakishor Pun (Pasang) is named the person behind the movie. The guest artists in the movie are Ganesh Bhandari, Maila Lama, Hari Siwakoti, Purushottam Dhungel and Deepesh Pun. In an effort to provide so-called ‘celebrity cards’ to the Nepali film makers, Nepal government has completed the first phase of the distribution of the identity cards to some of the senior-most film makers. In an event organized in Singh Durbar on April 18, 2016 minister Sher Dhan Rai handed over film artist cards to 13 senior most film artists. Video report:
The artists who received the identity cards include: Nir Shah, Yadav Kharal, Laxminath Sharma, Uddav Poudel, Bhuwan Thapa Chand, Basundhara Bhusal, Subhadra Adhikari, Kiran Kharel, Manju Kumar Shrestha, Chetan Karki, Hariprasad Rimal, Shakuntala Sharma Guruung and Gehendra Dhimal.
