Nepali beauties are making a huge impacts in international beauty pageants this year. Miss Nepal Shrinkhala Khatiwada made an impression in Miss World by winning two major titles – Multimedia Award and Beauty With a Purpose title. Now, another Miss Nepal, Manita Devkota, made it to Top 10 of Miss Universe 2018 beauty contest. That is the huge accomplishment for Nepal on her second participation in the contest. Last year, Nagma Shrestha debuted in Miss Universe contest by participating in the Miss Universe 2017 contest held in the United States.
UPDATE: The Miss Universe 2018 representative of Nepal, Manita Devkota is not receiving the same level of love from her fellow countrymen like Miss World contestant Shrinkhala. That may be because there was on voting round in Miss Universe. But, she made it better in performance in the contest. With almost 100 contestants from all over the world, Manita managed to go up to Top 10. Although she didn’t made it to the crown, that was a pretty good performance given, this was Nepal’s second participation in the contest.

UPDATE 2 (November 23) – Nagma has shared three hot photos of the swimsuit round at the Miss Universe 2017 contest. She looked confident and world-class in these photos. It was a very unlucky incident that she tripped over while exiting the stage. She regained control and walked immediately in the group. (Read the details of tripping)

The first ever Miss Universe Nepal Nagma Shrestha is currently in Las Vegas, USA, participating in the 67th edition of Miss Universe. Nagma’s catwalk wearing a black two piece swimsuit went very well and she did impress the audience.
It went well and the announcer said, “Nepal has a degree in business administration. But, her real interest lies in television production. This 26-years-old has a popular YouTube channel and has been a TV host since she was sixteen.”
But, as she was returning back from the stage, she tripped over and fell down. She tried to regain control before falling but couldn’t and fell down. A guy rushed in to help her get up. See the video at around 5:30 in the following video:
In the beauty contest, Miss Universe 2012, held in USA, Olivia Culpo from USA has won the title this year. In the event held on December 19, 2012 at the Planet Hollywood casino on the Las Vegas Strip, 88 beauties from all over the world participated to win the title.
The runner-up of the title was Miss Philippines, Janine Tugonon and the second runner-up was Miss Venezuela, Irene Sofia Esser Quintero. Other two beauties in top five were Miss Brazil and Miss Australia.
Former Miss Venezuela had lost the battle against breast cancer and died at a young age of 28 on December 17, 2011. The Miss Venezuela 2000 was being treated in a Houston, Texas hospital where she died leaving behind a daughter.
After beating 82 competitors the Miss Universe pageant held in Las Vegas, Mexican beauty queen Jimena Navarrete has won this year’s title.
After Lupita Jones, Navarrete’s national pageant director, who won the title in 1991, Navarrete has become the second Mexican Miss Universe.
The 22 year-old beauty, after winning the title, said that she wants the whole world to know about her country and her people. Navarrete has been modeling since she was 15 years old.
The first runner-up was Miss Jamaica, Yendi Phillipps and the second runner-up was Miss Australia, Jesinta Campbell.
