In a special ceremony held in Kathmandu on September 20, 2015, the new constitution of Nepal was unveiled by the president Dr. Ram Baran Yadav at the Constitution Assembly (CA) in Kathmandu. The constitution was written after an 8-years-long writing process spanning two Constitution Assemblies. Although there are still some people who are not satisfied by the new constitution, ninety percent of CA members had endorsed it. The citizens of Terai region have complained that the Constitution hasn’t incorporated their demands. As the new Constitution can easily be amended by 2/3 majority in the parliament, all the concerns can easily be incorporated in future amendments. According to reports, the new Constitution is the most democratic Constitution in the history of Nepal. On the completion of the lengthy constitution writing process, the film artists have welcomed it and have congratulated everybody for the achievement. I have collected some of the responses of Nepali artists on the historic day.

Comedy actor Hari Bamsha Acharya had welcomed the finalization of the constitution and wished the Madhesh issues be solved soon.
Actress Namrata Shrestha also wrote a long message telling, “I am motivated and inspired by smiling faces around Kathmandu valley today, everyone is dancing, singing and enjoying for the new prosperous Nepal.”
Actress Rekha Thapa has written a lengthy statement to welcome the new constitution. She congratulated Nepali citizens and told that it was the historic day of celebration and pride. She also hoped that the constitution 2072 becomes stronger, healthier and responsible towards the sovereignty of Nepal. She added, “This is the sign of a very positive beginning.”
Actress Jharana Thapa shared photos of herself holding the Nepali flag in support of the new constitution.
Actress Garima Pant also welcomed the constitution and told that new doors are opened for the betterment of the country.
Actress Keki Adhikari had shared the following photo with caption “Rays of hope.” a while before the constitution unveiling and added it was ‘once in the lifetime event.’

Actress Nisha Adhikari has set a picture of the Nepali flag and the map of the country as her cover image.
Actor Jiwan Luitel shared a photo of his in front of the CA gate and writes that we should unite and participate in the building of the country.
Director and actor Aakash Adhikari remembered the earthquake of April 25 and credited it for opening the eyes of the politicians to speed up the process of writing the constitution. He added, “Let’s make our bond even more strong and welcome the historical achievement.”

Bollywood actress Manisha Koirala has also expressed her abstract feeling towards the new constitution. A pro-monarchy actress, Manisha, doesn’t seem too happy of the new constitution.
