The Nepali movie ‘Chankhe Shankha Pankhe’ was released in theater on September 25, 2015. The movie featuring Sudarshan Thapa in leading role is also produced and directed by himself with producer Santosh Sen Thakuri. The movie was previously scheduled to release on May 15. But, because of April 25 earthquake, the release date was postponed. The movie was highly promoted in various avenues including some Indian websites.
Nepali actresses and others gathered at Maitighar Mandala on the evening of February 6 to remember late Neha Pun, the Magar film actress raped and killed in Pokhara. At the time when the murderer is yet to be identified the actresses and model in Kathmandu have gathered to pay homage to the deceased soul. The remembrance event called by actresses Richa Sharma was supported by the actresses and models.

The child artist in the movie is Sony Thakur. The 6-Episodes-long telefilm was broadcasted in television in December 2013 – January of 2014.
In a special ceremony held in Kathmandu on September 20, 2015, the new constitution of Nepal was unveiled by the president Dr. Ram Baran Yadav at the Constitution Assembly (CA) in Kathmandu. The constitution was written after an 8-years-long writing process spanning two Constitution Assemblies. Although there are still some people who are not satisfied by the new constitution, ninety percent of CA members had endorsed it. The citizens of Terai region have complained that the Constitution hasn’t incorporated their demands. As the new Constitution can easily be amended by 2/3 majority in the parliament, all the concerns can easily be incorporated in future amendments. According to reports, the new Constitution is the most democratic Constitution in the history of Nepal. On the completion of the lengthy constitution writing process, the film artists have welcomed it and have congratulated everybody for the achievement. Comedy actor Hari Bamsha Acharya had welcomed the finalization of the constitution and wished the Madhesh issues be solved soon.
The fifth edition of Miss Nepal US was held in New York among a huge crowd of Nepali living in the USA. Two Nepali actresses, Keki Adhikari and Nandita KC had also performed in the event. Actress Manisha Koirala was also present in the event. Other bollywood actors and Nepali actors like Sunil Thapa were also present in the event. Most of these film artists were in the USA to participate in FOG festival in California, held earlier.
Priyanka Thapaliya, a resident of North Carolina, has wont this years Miss Nepal US title. Kaushila Lama and Neha Jha have won the first and second runner up titles respectively. The winners were selected from the pool of ten finalists of the contest.

The Nepali movie ‘Krishna’ is a presentation of RBK Sharad. The movie is made on the story featuring an action love story drama. The action and adventure movie is written by Yogesh Rayamajhi / Kishor Dhakal.
The movie was named ‘Kholawari Kholapari’ at the time of shooting. The movie was renamed ‘Krishna’ right before the release of the movie on August 6, 2010 (read more about it in our previous post). Initially the director of the movie was JB Rai. When Rai left the team, the assistant director Sujan Lama took over the role of the director.
Nepali actor Sunil Thapa was awarded the Life Time Achievement Award at the FOG awards held on August 15 at San Francisco, USA. Thapa was one of the five recipients of the awards including Jackie Chan, Kieu Chinh, Bappi Lahari and Matin Sheen.
Other Nepali participant artists were also felicitated in the FOG( Festival of Globe)awards 2015.
Festival of Globe (FOG) has been going on in the USA since August 7 and will wrap up on August 16. Nepali artists participating in the festival include Nandita KC, Keki Adhikari, Suresh Darpan Pokharel, Richa Ghimire, Shankar BC, Sunil Thapa and others.
