The movie is about Nepal Scout and their social works. Two new artists Sanjay Shrestha and Rakchhya Shrestha have debuted as new actors in the film. The movie was released in 2017 (release news). I had also written a news about the movie in 2015 (Garima Panta to be scout). These days, Garima is living in Belgium with her husband and has left the film industry. This is probably one of the last films of the award winning actress.
This year, it is the second birthday after Garima Panta married Hari Thapaliya in 2016. After the marriage, the couple have shared photos of themselves and they don’t seem to have any close friends. The 33rd birthday celebration of Garima was held in Belgium. According to the status and photos shared by Garima, it was a small private ceremony.
In one of the statuses Garima has written “The life was going on while understanding it and the world. But, when I met you I have understood the life and the world in a better manner. I wish I could spend thousands of the lives with you. That is all I want.” (Rough English translation of the Nepali status in Instagram).
Who is Garima Panta?
The actress of ‘Jhola’, Garima raised in the fame and popularity after the success of the movie. But, after the movie, she left the film industry and the country to marry a NRN, Hari Thapaliya in Belgium. The couple are running a restaurant in the European country. After Jhola, another movie of Garima Panta, ‘Teen Ghumti’ had also received positive feedback from the viewers.
Actress Garima Panta has donated Rs. 700,000 to create a fund for the scholarship of the talented and poor students in two of the schools in her birthplace. She donated Rs. 3,50,000 to Shree Mitratata HS School, the school she studied in her childhood. She also donated the equal amount to Shree Marsyangdi Samudayak School, located in village development committee she was born in.
Who is Garima Panta?
Nepali actress Garima Panta is known for being a down-to-earth and easy going actress in the film industry. She has however left the country and the film industry to live with her husband in Belgium.
When Garima was awarded the National Award, actress Rekha Thapa had told that Garima was a bad actress. In response, Garima had admitted that she was a bad actress and will improve in coming days.

The Nepali movie ‘Sasu Nanda Bhauju’ is a social drama movie by Jayamatadi Films Production released in 2010. The movie featruing actress Garima Panta in leading role features the music of Manohar Sonam and Dhurbjit Gogain, Background music by Dinesh Sonam, action of Rajendra Khadgi and is produced by the director Satya Narayan Kayal himself. Playback singers are Rajesh Payal Rai, Jagadish Samal, Laxman Sesh, Dinesh Gautam, Pratima Sonam, Rewati Rai, and Tika Prasai. Nepali movie ‘Dobato’ is a presentation of Tanka Lamsal for Kshitij Cine Arts banner. The movie is made on the story of Deepa Narayan Jha. The screenplay and the dialogue is written by OM Pratik, music by Sambhujit Baskota, editing by Tara Thapa, action by NB Maharjan, cinematography by Shambhu Sapkota and the choreography by Basanta Shrestha and Dinesh Pakhrin. The lyrics of the songs in the movie are written by Kali Prasad Rijal, Nabraj Lamsal and Dayaram Dahal. The background score is prepared by Samrat Thapa.
There were four new Nepali movies released in theaters in Nepal on July 1, 2016. Out of the four only one was well known movies and others were unheard of. The movie ‘Teen Ghumti’ – based on BP Koirala novels, ‘Anmok Kshan’ a production of Sikkim based Nepali, ‘Lale’ and ‘Surya The Power’. Very few viewers turned in to theatre as the climate in Kathmandu was rainy on Friday.

At last, actress Garima Pant has announced her marriage with Hari Sharma Thapaliya in Belgium. There were not pandits, no janti and no reception parties in the marriage. Garima and Hari got married in the court by signing the marriage papers.
Garima has used the money saved by not having a lavish marriage, for a noble cause -by donating to a couple of schools in her birthplace. According the the information she shared in her Facebook profile, Garima is going to donate Rs. 700,000 to tow of the schools in her birthplace to set up scholarship funds for poor and talented children.

Nepali movie ‘Bhaihalchha Ni’ under Colours Movies and Entertainment banner was released in theater on April 27, 2012. The movie features the music of Yadav / Govind, lyrics of Lok Raj Adhikari, choreography by Dinesh Adhikari, editing by Milan Shrestha, cinematography by Hari Humagain, action by Roshan Shrestha and written by the director MS AGraj.
A 2014 release movie ‘Jhola’ is based on a story by literature Krishna Dharabasi titled the same – ‘Jhola’. The story is about an ancient tradition – Sati culture, until it was banned in 1920s. In this culture a wife had to immolate herself upon her husband’s death. In the start, some women used to end their life on her husband’s death voluntary, but later women were forced to commit Sati even against their wishes.
For her role in the movie, actress Garima Panta had won the Best Actress award at the SAARC Film Festival held in Sri Lanka in 2014. The film was also selected in Nepal to represent the country in the the Best Foreign Language Film at the 87th Academy Awards. The movie however couldn’t succeed in being nominated for the award.
In a special ceremony held in Kathmandu on September 20, 2015, the new constitution of Nepal was unveiled by the president Dr. Ram Baran Yadav at the Constitution Assembly (CA) in Kathmandu. The constitution was written after an 8-years-long writing process spanning two Constitution Assemblies. Although there are still some people who are not satisfied by the new constitution, ninety percent of CA members had endorsed it. The citizens of Terai region have complained that the Constitution hasn’t incorporated their demands. As the new Constitution can easily be amended by 2/3 majority in the parliament, all the concerns can easily be incorporated in future amendments. According to reports, the new Constitution is the most democratic Constitution in the history of Nepal. On the completion of the lengthy constitution writing process, the film artists have welcomed it and have congratulated everybody for the achievement. This week’s release is interesting – a clash between the highly expected comedy movie ‘Resham Filili’ and award winner movie ‘Jhola’. The movie ‘Jhola’ was previously released, before it won Best Actress Award in SAARC Film Festival.
The movie ‘Resham Filili’ won the hearts of many by its music and catchy tune. Everybody’s favorite ‘Jalama…’ has become an instant hit and various cover versions of the song were made and shared in YouTube. For the first time in the history of Nepali movie ‘Resham Filili’ has made more than 50 percent advance booking in the multiplex theaters in Kathamndu.
