Nepali Movie – Aama (Mithila Sharma, Surakshya Panta)

The movie directed by Dipendra K Khanal, featuring Mithila Sharma and Surakshya Panta in leading roles is released in YouTube. Right after release, the movie has been very successful in attracting a huge amount of Nepali viewers.

The movie was released right before the lockdown. The movie was taken off the theater before people watched it. It was released again after 9 months of lockdown. But, the viewers didn’t go to theater to watch it. The movie was released online after a copy was shared online. The movie is produced by Sharmila Pandey. In addition to direction and script D.K. Khanal is also the cinematographer of the movie.

I have compiled a list of Top 10 old Nepali movies you shouldn’t miss. Clicks on the respective posters lead to the page with full movie. All the movies are available to watch. Half of the top 10 movies in this list are directed by Tulsi Ghimire. Others are directed by Hira Singh Khatri, Sambhu Pradhan, Nir Shah and Yadav Kharel. Five movies directed by Tusli Ghimire, two by Nir Shah and one each by Hira Singh, Sambhu Pradhan and Yadav Kharel.

A presentation of Sayapatri Films, Nepali movie ‘Aama’ is made on the story of Uddav Poudyal and script of the director Resh Raj Acharya. Child artists in the movie are Nimesh Poudel and Khusbu Niraula. Krishna Prasad Adhikari and Niranjan Bhattarai are the guest artists in the movie.

Prakash Poudel – Experimentation and Innovation in music (Part 1)

Do you remember singer Prakash Paudel? If not, do you remember a song “Naai Malai Tehi Keti Chahincha" – a cry rap song. Yes, Prakash Paudel is the same singer also known as Runche Gayak due to his first smash hit song “Naai Malai Tehi Keti Chahincha”. It has been 8 years since he entered the music field with his first album 3 Much, released by Moonlight Records. The debut album consisted of different experimental and comedy songs and it introduced him to the Nepali music industry as an experimental singer. The listeners have appreciated his talent and that album had done excellent business on its release.

Prakash is known for new and experimental types of songs. A whisper song “Kasailai sa bhannu la” and a lok-rap and comedy songs like “Doctor saabh vitamin lekhdinus na”. His fun filled songs are mostly popular among children and youngsters.
