This Friday, on May 9, three new Nepali movies are releasing in theater. Kamal Krishna movie ‘Damdar’, Eelum Dixit presentation ‘Red Monsoon’ and Nir Shah movie ‘Aakal’ are competing to win the hearts of the Nepali viewers in theaters all over Nepal.
Well known theater director Eelum Dixit is debuting in big screen movie in ‘Red Monsoon’. Eelum is a well known director of telefilms and theater plays who had completed bachelor in film acting and direction in New York. The movie is the retelling of a short story titled ‘Sharan’ by Karuna Sharma.
The movie tells the story of struggling young generation in Kathmandu. The movie features Himali Dixit, Sandip Chhetri, Sarita Giri, Shristi Ghimire and Hari Bansha Acharya in main roles. The director Eelum has written the script and dialogue of the movie produced by US film makers.
The producer, director and the crew members of the movie ‘Damdar’ were sad when actress Rekha Thapa didn’t show up without any clarification. The actress is finishing up her upcoming movie ‘Himmatwali’ in which she is also a director. The audio of ‘Damdar’ was released in the press meet held on March 30.
The producer Suman Bista says, "Rekha had promised to come but, didn’t come." It is the first time Suman has invested money in a movie. The actor Sabin Shrestha and actress Archana Dellala was present in the ceremony. The director Kamal Krishna also wasn’t happy on the absence of Rekha. Archana is an item dancer in the movie.
Popular item dancer of Nepali movies, Archana Dellala, is going to be featured in a Bengali movie. The movie titled, ‘Sada Kalo Akasher Canvase’ will feature Archana in lead roles. In a press meet held in Kathmandu on February 2, the director Tanvin Rafik told that he has seen the talent in Archana for the role.
The movie, named ‘Mayako Parichaya’ in Nepali language, will be shot mostly in Nepal. After the completion of 60 percent shooting in Nepal, remaining part will be shot in Bangladesh.
