All Nepal Band Competition-Registration till Sept 25

The date of Grand Finale Battle of All Nepal Band Competition has been postponed to 6th October 2012 and time period for Band Registration has been extended to Sept 25. Earlier, the date of Grand Finale was fixed for 18th August 2012.

According to facebook event page of the program, five major cities that have been mainly covered by this Competition with a title “SongNepal XclusiveZ Band Clash 2012- A Road to Musical Fame” are:

According to Event Management Team, no other changes have been made in all other terms and conditions for participation and prizes etc.

Dev Rana (A Legendary Drummer of Nepal), Robin Tamang (Band: Robin & The New Revolution), Hari Maharjan (Band: Hari Maharjan Project), Iman Shah (Principle: Nepal Music Center), Umes Shrestha (Founder: Ktm Rocks) and some Guest Judges are in panel of judges. Who guest judges will be that have not been clarified yet. According to the event page, there will be Abhaya & The Steam Injuns, Lakhey and Turnkey (India) as guest bands.

Miss Limbu 2012 is Nilima Maden

The First Spark Miss Limbu 2012 was held successfully in Kathmandu on Friday, Sept 21, 2012. In the event, the Miss Limbu 2012 title was awarded to the Limbu beauty, Nilima Maden. Nilima is originally fromTaplejung and is a professional fashion designer doing doing her bachelor degree in Fashion Designing course in Kathmandu.

The first runner-up title was awarded to a medical doctor, Dr. Alisha Wanem. Alisha was born in Sankhuwasava and is working in BPKHS Dharan. The second runner up title of Miss Limbu 2012 was awa
rded to a mode from Dharan, Alina Thalang. Alina  got her last name from the place she is originally from – Thalang of Taplejung.

Entertainment program in Swimming Pool

Splash pool party event was held on September 15 at Hotel Shahenshah in Basundhara, Kathmandu with entertainment programs; Swimwear fashion show, b boying dance, the eastern stars dance by Reshma Khadgi in Nepali song Saani, live performance by singer Bikash Shrestha and Rapper Boyz magic show by Shujant.

Shruti Baral, Bini Lama, Junu Dawadi and Showstopper Pratima Khatiwoda presented Swimwear Fashion in choreography of Pratima Shrestha. In this event lady DJ ashika also played music and other DJs were ganesh, rob and splash.

According to Iras shrestha, Director of Creative network international (CNI) Nepal, the event was enjoyed by more than 800 people including tourists and the next event will be held at Fun n Food Village Resort in Biratnagar on 20 Ashoj. Iras further added, CNI is organizing such event since 2008 and this is the second event for this year. The first event of this year was held in June 15.

 

 

Miss Teen 2012 is Nilu Khadka

Nilu Khadka has won this year’s Miss Teen title in an event organized in Kathmandu on September 12, 2012.

The first runner-up of Miss Teen 2012 is Samikshya Siwakoti and the second runner-up is Nancy Bogati.

In a Facebook comment, the first runner-up Samikshya has responded with satisfaction on being the second in the contest.

Facebook page of Samikshya and Nancy Bogati are flooded with congratulation messages (Nilu’s Facebook page is private so, we couldn’t peek in it).

Miss UK Nepal 2012 is Durga Gurung

This year’s Miss UK Nepal crown was awarded to Durga Gurung in a ceremony held in London. The Miss UK Nepal 2011, Gaumaya Gurung, crown the news title holder in Durga Gurung in the program with various cultural programs in between. Parika Ale was selected the first runner-up and Nayan Gurung was the second runnerup of the beauty contest.

The winner of the title Durga also received a cash prize of £800 and the second title of Best Figure. The second runner-up Parika Ale, who was the Miss Talent in the contest received a cash prize of £500. The second runner-up Nayan G
urung, who also received Miss Personality title was awarded a cash prize of £300.

Khusbu and Proshesh- College Ambassador 2012

This year’s winners of College Ambassador 2012 are Proshesh Karki (in male contest) and Khusbu Pradhan (in female contest) who secure 80.5 points and 84 respectively to win the title in the event held at Rastriya Nachghar on 8th September.

In the event organized by Green Media Pvt. Ltd., other some title winners are

Miss Global International 2012 is Priyanka Bhandari

The 17 year-old beauty, Priyanka Bhandari was awarded the Miss Global International 2012 title an event held in Kathmandu on Monday, September 3, 2012. She was selected from 17 participants from different parts of the country were competing to win the title.

Miss Global International 2012 Priyanka received the crown and a cash prize of rupees two lakh. The first runner-up of the contest Priya Sigdel received a cash prize of Rs. 80,000 and the second runner-up  Sonu Thapa Magar received a cash prize of Rs. 40,000. Sonu Thapa Magar was also awarded the titles Miss T
alent, and Miss Friendship.

Supriya- 2nd Little Miss World Nepal- 2012

Supriya Maskey, grade 7 student of Little Angel’s School became the winner of 2nd Little Miss World Nepal- 2012 held at Army Officer’s Club, Bhadrakali in Kathmandu on Sunday. Now, Supriya will be representing Nepal in international arena in Little Miss World – 2012 that will be held on 30 September -06 October 2013 in Antalya, Turkey. Supriya also won the titles ‘Little Miss World Talent 2nd Runner Up’ and ‘Little Miss World Best Dress Award- 2012′.

Earlier in October 2011, it must be still in every Nepalese remembrance that Bipaswi Poudel won the international title, Little Miss World 2011 making every Nepalese proud who was the winner of 1st Little Miss World Nepal- 2011. It is yet to see whether this success will be continued this time too.

Meanwhile, Esha Dhungana Thapa, grade 7 student of The British School, became the First Runner Up and Soni Lama, grade 7 student of Brihaspati School became the Second Runner Up.

Teej Pari 2012 is Ramila Pokhrel

The third Teej Pari contest is held today (on September 1, 2012) in the Lazimpat Tourism Development Board office. One of the very few beauty contests held for married women in Nepal, Teej Pari is held before the Teej festival.

The participants of the contest was trained by the senior choreographer Kala Subba. The second Teej pari 2011 (2068) Himani Subba helped Kala Subba in the training.

After the event Himani Subba crowned the Teej Pari 2012, Ramila Pokhrel. The first runner up in the contest was Romi Ghimire. The second runner up was Namrata Karki. There were 10 participants t
o claim the title of this year’s Teej Pari.

Oshima Banu- Face of Classic Diamond

Final Audition of “TIMELESS PARAGON JEWELRY FASHION SHOW – 2012” was held at Yak & Yeti Hotel in Kathmandu on Sunday. Oshima Banu became the winner of ‘Face of the Classic Diamond’, Prina Maharjan and Astha Pokhrel became the First and the Second Runner-Up respectively in ‘Model Hunt Competition’ that has been added for the first time in this Fashion Show.

 These three winners from ‘Face of the Classic Diamond’ get a chance to participate in the Timeless Paragon Jewelry Fashion Show  that is scheduled  to be held in 22nd Sep 2012 along with other 9 Professional models from Nepal, 8 International Female Models from India and 4 Male Models from “Face of the Classic Diamond” model hunt contest.

Miss World 2012 is Miss China, Shristi top 10 in Beach Beauty

Nepali people had a lot of hopes from Miss Nepal 2012 Shristi Shrestha but she couldn’t be selected in the top 15 list.  Many fans of Shristi however are satisfied that she had managed to be ranked 21st. That in itself was a record in Nepal participation in Miss World.

Shristi’s achievement in being selected as one of the top 10 in Miss World Beach Fashion contest was also a new record. The winner of Miss World Beach Fashion contest was Miss Wales.

This year’s Miss World was awarded to Miss China. This is the second time
Miss China has been awarded the title. The last time Zhang Zilin was awarded the Miss World 2007.

Astha Shrestha is the Miss Nepal US(A) 2012

A Nepali beauty, Astha Shrestha, is selected the new Miss Nepal US(A) 2012 in an event held at the Johnson Center, George Mason University, Fairfax, Virginia on on August 11, 2012. In the event, Nurja Shrestha was the first runner-up and Aashma Dhakal the second runner-up. The title winner Astha was also awarded the Most Disciplined award.

The grand finale training/preparation for the Queens & Classic Diamond Miss Nepal US(A) 2012 has been going on since August 2, 2012 with 28 finalists contesting for the title of Miss Nepal US(A) 2012.

The Grand Finale of Miss Nepal US (A) 2012 will be held in the Johnson Center, George Mason University, Fairfax, VA on August 11, 2012 (on Saturday at 7pm).

Music Khabar Music Award 2012 – unknown winners

A music award named ‘Music Khabar Music Award 2012’ was recently held in Kathmandu. But, to the surprise of the professionals in music industry, very few knew about the award. In the award ceremony, there were more non-musicians than musicians.

Although only awards for 22 categories were to be awarded in the ceremony according to a press released previously, 25 awards were distributed during the actual event. After the event, many complained that the award winners were not the deserving candidates. Some of the award winning creations wer
e even previously unheard of.

23-year-old Miss Nepal Shristi is almost 6 feet tall and has international modeling experience.

Yuma Rai- Miss Rai 2012

Yuma Rai was crowned Miss Rai 2012 in the beauty contest held in Rastriya Naach Ghar, Jamal on Thursday.

Seli Rai became the First Runner Up and Srija Rai became the Second Runner Up.  In this contest, the Third Runner Up was also announced and it goes to Bidiyok Rai.

Yuma received cash prize of Rs 50,000 whereas First, Second and Third Runner Ups received Rs 20,000 each.
