In an event held on March 8, 2023, in a resort in Chitwan, actress Surekshya Panta got married with her long-time boyfriend Manav Subedi. Only friends and family members were invited in the wedding ceremony.
Surakshya and Manav were engaged in a ceremony held on March 7, 2023 and the Mehandi event was held on the same day. Informing about the events, Surakshya shared photos of the event.
Sharing an engagement photo Surakshya wrote – “A new chapter is starting today. We are very happy. Please give us best wishes,” in Nepali and she wrote Engagement in all caps.
Here are some photos of Surakshya’s marriage, engagement and Mehandi ceremony. A reception party is going to be held in Kathmandu to meet and greet the film industry personalities. The dates and the details are yet to be announced.

Melina is the elder among the two daughters of a well known musician, Jibesh Rai. Her father started teaching his daughter singing since their early age. As a music teacher, the father was a very strict. The little girls had to wake up very early – at 4 AM and start practicing singing. The actress who debuted in Nepali film industry in Nepali movie ‘Ranveer’, Supuspa Bhatta, has married her boyfriend Raunak Bikram Kandel in an event held at Gokarna Forest Resort on July 2, 2021. In the marriage ceremony held among close friends and family members, Raunak applied sacred sindoor on Supuspa’s head. The couple promised to live together through out their lives in front of burning fire in Yagyna.
The couple was engaged to get married on Baisakh 15. Because of the current lockdown condition the wedding ceremony was more like private function. The couple was seeing each other for about a year.

The groom, Raunak Kandel, was one of the producers of the superhit movie ‘Kabaddi’ featuring Dayahang Rai in leading role. After the success of the first movie as a producer, Kandel produced a number of other movies like ‘Mr. Jholey’. These days, he is told to be busy in other businesses and has stopped producing movies.

This is a rare incident – journalist Rabi Lamichhane and Nekita Poudel got married in a private ceremony held at Mystique Mountain Resort in Nagarkot. The place is also near the birth place of Lamichhane. It is interesting that, Rabi had gone and lived in the place to celebrate his honeymoon with his wife Nekita in Februaty at the same resort.
When they went there, it was snowing a lot. Rabi had shared a live video of the place and he had shared photos of the couple at the place at that time. Although 4 different people of the Nepali film industry got married today on May 7, 2019 it was only two marriages. Two directors married today. One director married the actress of one of his films, ‘Aishwarya’ and another director married the producer of her directorial debut film ‘Intu Mintu Londonma’.
It was not a surprise event because it was a well known fact that they were seeing each other for some time. The relationship between the choreographer Renasha Bantawa Rai and the producer Prajwal SJB Rai had been a decade old. They had been working together in movies for a long time. Renasha is a well known choreographer and she is doing second movie as a director too. The success of Intu Mintu Londonma has helped Nepali film industry find another hit director.
The relationship between Diwakar Bhattarai and his actress in ‘Aishwarya’, Deepika Prasain flourished during the shooting of the movie. They went to court and got married even before the film was complete. They got engaged in an official ceremony a while ago. Diwakar Bhattarai is one of the most successful directors of the film industry. After the success of ‘Jatra’, ‘Aishwarya’ and ‘Captain’ he is one of the most sought after directors of the Nepali film industry. Deepika is also considered an actress with potential.
As all the four are known to be successful person in their field, it seems, these two couple will rule the film industry in the coming days. The only other successful couple in the film industry that I can recall is Swastima Khadka and Nischal Basnet.

Film Director Subarna Thapa has married journalist Devaki Bista. The marriage ceremony was held in a private cremony held among firends and family members.
Directo Subarna is known for directing the movie ‘Soongava’, a movie made on lesbian love story. The movie featuring Nisha Adhikari and Deeya Maskey was liked by critics. The movie had won various international awards and was also sent to represent Nepal in Oscars. (Read more about the movie‘)
The director, Subarna Thapa has been living in France for quite some time. He had also directed other movies like ‘Fanko’ and ‘Bato Muniko Phool 2’. Thapa has also directed a number of short films.

The ‘Nai Nabhannu La 4’ debut actress Barsha Raut has announced her marriage with her long-time boyfriend Sanjog Koirala on the Valentine Day of 2019. The announcement was unexpected although they were together for more than 5 years and everybody knew they were going to get married. The announcement was made a month prior to actual marriage day. It is a coincidence that, the day is also believed to be a good day for marriage according to the ancient Hindu belief (Shubha Sait for marriage).

The director of Nepali movie ‘Aishwarya’, Deewakar Bhattarai, has married the actress of the film, Deepika Prasain. The director had introduced the actress in the film industry in the movie and they had started dating while the film was being shot. Now, Deewakar and Deepika have confirmed the relationship and have told that they have performed an official engagement ceremony with the friends and families of both parties.
In an interview, Deepika has also told that they had also married in the court during the shooting of ‘Aishwarya’ and kept it a secret. Deepak and Deepika are also planning to perform a traditional marriage ceremony in the future. For now, they are in a Thailand tour – a honeymoon tour. It sure is a strange relationship – with unique 3-step marriage

Deepika debuted in ‘Aishwarya’ and her second film, ‘Chhakka Panja 3’ has also been successful. The director Diwakar Bhattarai is also known to be a well known director. He was the assistant director of ‘Dreams’, the debut film of Bhuwan KC as a director. He has also directed another Bhuwan KC film, featuring Anmol KC in lead role, ‘Captain’. The movie is yet to release and is expected to be a successful movie.
It seems both Deepika and Diwakar are going to rule the Nepali film industry in the future.

That is because, the mother of the superstar of the Nepali film industry, Anmol KC, is getting married. Sushmita got engaged to Fiji born, Australian businessman Killan Swami on September 9, 2018 in an event held in Singapore. They are going to get married on the Valentine Day of 2019.
More details on the marriage is yet to come. There was a rumour about the relationship with an Indian businessman in 2014. It seems, she has taken more than four years to formally accept the marriage proposal of her boyfriend.

Actress Priyanka Karki and actor and model Ayushman Desraj Joshi have engaged on Saturday July 14th, 2018 in a private function. The engagement ceremony was unannounced and a surprise event for all except their family members. The mother of Ayushman, Raveena Desraj Shrestha, was the first person to release the photos of the engagement in her Instagram and Facebook. Priyanka and Ayushman did the same by sharing the same photos in their Instagram accounts.

Miss Nepal Earth 2015 has become second title holder of Miss Nepal 2015 to get married. Last year, Miss Nepal World 2015, Evana Manandhar got married and this year the runner up has married her long-time boyfriend. May be, it will be the turn of the wedding bells of the second runner up, Medha Koirala next year.

Dibyata had been dating Ayush Shrestha for the last 9 years. They had been going steady while Ayush was in UK for his studies. He returned back to Nepal after completion of his studies in 2013. In that time Dibyata was doing her business studies and she was also modelling. After completion of her bachelor’s degree, Dibyata competed in Miss Nepal contest of 2015. She won the Miss Nepal Earth title and represented Nepal in Miss Earth 2015. Both Ayush and Dibyata being business studies graduates, they are mostly busy in business than entertainment field.
Ayush had proposed Dibyata during their foreign tour in 2017 and Dibyata said ‘yes’ to his proposal. They waited about a year for the actual marriage. The marriage ceremony started on April 12 and the final day of marriage was April 20. In the marriage ceremony the friends and relatives of the bride and groom were invited.
