It’s official, Nigam Shrestha is kicked out of Laure (Shristi’s accident mysterious)

Now, it is official, the director of upcoming movie ‘Laure’ is kicked out of the project towards the end of the shooting. The director Nigam Shrestha was removed by the production team, Durgesh Films, when the shooting is in its last stage.

According to reports, 70 percent shooting of the movie is completed by Nigam Shrstha. The owner of Durgesh Films, Sunil Rawal, is known for is bad relationship with his crew members. Now, the new director of the movie will be Bikram Singh. Bikram Singh is one of the artists in the movie and he is also the script writer of the movie.

The producer and the director of the movie haven’t told the reason behind the change in the crew member. Sunil Rawal has told that he doesn’t want to talk about the issue and the director Shrestha couldn’t be contacted. According to rumours, Nigam had shown bad behaviour toward one of the team members. The nature and the level of bad behaviour is not known.

Miss Nepal 2012 Shristi Shrestha to debut in Jaar

Nepali film industry is to get a new actress, a very beautiful one – Miss Nepal 2012, Shristi Shrestha. The model who managed to be one of the top 20 in Miss World 2012, top 8 in Miss Beach Beauty, top 10 in Multimedia and top 10 in dancing skills in the Miss World competition, might bring in something new in the Nepali film industry.

When we talk about the history of Miss Nepal as actresses, none have actually been successful. The last Miss Nepal actress, Malina Joshi is struggling after the failure of her debut movie. Another miss Nepal, Malvika Subba wasn’t successful either. Although Jharana Bajracharya is the most successful actress among the ex-Miss Nepals, she hasn’t been able to leave any marks in the industry. With this history, Shristi’s journey to success as an actress is not going to be easy. Actress Rekha Thapa was one of the contestants of Miss Nepal 1990, but she didn’t win any titles.

Movie Review – Chadke

After a very good publicity a equally good response from the promotional matters, ‘Chadke’ was released all over Nepal on 22th February. ‘Chadke’, said to be an environmental thriller movie, is based on youths and the environment of Chitwan area. The movie is the debut movie of director Nigam Shrestha, and he had also assisted ‘Loot‘ as an assistant director. ‘Chadke’ features Namrata Shrestha, Robin Tamang, Arpan Thapa, Dayahang Rai, and Sushil Pokharel in leading roles.

Story

Chitwan is ruled by a multi-ethnic six-member gang named Royal gang. The leader of Royal gang, Chewang Lama, haa political backing and his gang smuggles and sells Chitwan National Park animals to foreigners. The opposing political party supports a small gang of Bindu and offers Rs. 50 lakhs bounty to kill Chewang Lama. In the meantime, Royal gang’s member obstruct the work of a researcher who had come to study about plants and species in the National Park. The movie is all about these the researcher, Bindu, Chewang, and their gangs. I don’t want to kill the excitement of watching the movie by revealing the plot.

Nepali Movie – Chadke (pre-release review)

Nepali movie ‘Chadke’ is releasing on Friday, February 22, 2013. The movie directed by Nigam Shrestha features Saugat Malla, Namrata Shrestha, Robin Tamang, Arpan Thapa, Dayahang Rai, and Sunil Pokharel in main roles.

The movie features the cinematography of Sanjay Lama and Hari Bahadur Ghale(Lama), music direction of Jason Kunwar, editing of Lokesh Bajracharya and Dirga Khadka, and story/script/dialogue of Nigam Shrestha. ‘Chadke’, a story of gangsters of Chitwan, portrays the life of gangsters of our society. The thriller movie was awarded an adult certificate due to matured contents in its dialogues.

In an interview with xnepali the director Nigam Shrestha told that ‘Chadke is about content, performance and music‘.

He had worked as an assistant director in one of the most popular movies of modern time, ‘Loot‘ and has repeated some of the casts of the movie in his debut movie. Chhadke got an ‘A’ certificate, releasing on Feb 22

Nepali movie ‘Chhadke’ was awarded an ‘A’ certificate – not suitable for audience younger than 16-years. After the evaluation of the movie, the Censor Board had censored some of the dialogues and awarded the certificate because of vulgar words in the movie.

Chhadke – a new experiment in combating poster plagiarism

A graphic designer, Ananda Maharjan, has won the Open Movie Poster Competition for a Nepali Cinema "Chhadke".

The movie producers have told that the winning poster will be used in the official promotion of ‘Chhadke‘. It is told that Ananda will also be involved in the design of other promotional materials.
