Blackberry Bold 9700 – Smartphone debut in Nepal
The only phone set available with Ncell, Blackberry Bold 9700, costs Rs. 49,199 and will cost Rs. 1,000 every month. That is well above majority of the people in Nepal can afford. Those who can afford, might be skeptical in paying dearly to a year old model (released 2009, October) when latest models like Blackberry Torch are available elsewhere. There is an option for the user to bring their own Blackberry and use the service for the same monthly charge.

TV Filmi – New Television Channel in Nepal by Gopi Krishna Movies
The TV channel will go live from 31 August 2010.
Uddav Poudel of Gopikrishna movies told that the TV channel will be a 24 hours channel focused mainly on movies. The program VJs and producers will also from Nepali movie industry. Actress Nisha Adhikari (First Love actress) is going to host a live program in the evening.

Miss Little Idol 2010 – Sagun
Sagun Bhetwal got the title Miss Little Idol 2010 at an event held organized by Action Entertainment Pvt. Ltd.
12 year old Sagun, a 6th grade student got a prize of Rs. 15,000.
First runner up, 10 year old Katy Winterburn received Rs 10,000 and 8 year old Riya Gurung, the second runner up received Rs. 5,000.
Nai Nabhannu La – shooting photos
Here are some photos of the shooting of the movie “Nai Nbhannu La”. The movie directed by Bikash Acharya was one of the hit movies.
The success of the movie encouraged the producer/director Acharya to make a sequel of the movie – “Nai Nabhannu La 2”, another superhit movie. (Watch “Nai Nabhannu La 2” here).
Models accused of human trafficking
Two models Ramita Bhandari and Sabu Shah were arrested on charges of trafficking young girls promising lucrative jobs in Singapore. After a complaint lodged by a Singapore return, Anita Nakarmi, the police has arrested the model-duo from Imadol. Anita accused them of trafficking several girls including herself in bars in Singapore. Ramita and Sabu were planning to go to Singapore on Saturday, August 14.
Little Star and Little Champ 2010 held in Pokhara
That was not all. Last week, another kid’s contest was held in Pokhara. The last week’s contest title itself, ‘Little Champ 2010’ was copied from a popular Indian TV show "sa re ga ma pa Little Champ 2010". The contest was held among the kids aged between 6 and 12 years (it is the same target group as that of Little Star).
