The comeback movie of Shweta Khadka after the untimely demise of her husband Shree Krishna Shrestha in 2014. She waited four years before she starred in another movie. In 2014, The last movie of them being featured together – film ‘Kohinoor’ was released. Shree Krishna was at the hospital at the time of the release. He had sent an audio message to the viewers of the movie that he couldn’t attend the release of the movie. It was a shocking moment for Shweta Khadka. She went into depression for a long time. It took a very lengthy treatment in Nepal and out of country before Shweta become better. The movie got a lot of viewers in the theater and was one of the successful movies of the year. The director, Aakash Adhikari had also directed the last film of Shree Krishna Shrestha, ‘Kohinoor’. The movie became a superhit movie earning a record breaking amount in theatre in 2014. ‘Kanchhi’ was released in 2017 in theatre.

Originally the movie was scheduled to release in 2015 but, because of the earthquake of the year, the release was delayed.

The movie ‘Dharma’ was promoted as the comeback movie of Bollywood actress Manisha Koirala. Manisha debuted in Nepali movie ‘Feri Bhetaula’ in 1989. But, the movie wasn’t as successful as expected. After that, Manisha went to Bollywood and established herself as the top actress. ‘Feri Bhetaula’ is not available online. The comeback movie ‘Dharma’ also failed to appeal the public. The movie introduces a new actor Samyog Pokharel.
The director of ‘Dharma’, Dipendra K Khanal directed a superhit movie ‘Pashupati Pradad’ last year. He is also the director of ‘Chapali Height’. Other artists in the movie are superstar Rajesh Hamal and action star Nikhil Upreti. This movie was made before Nikhil married Sanchita and left the film industry for five years. Nikhil has made a successful comeback and is busy in the film industry these days. Actress Anu Shah is also featured in the movie. Another actress Rejina Upreti was also a well known actress at the movie’s time. These days, Rejina has left the film industry after marrying her boyfriend. Rejina is expecting a child in November 2016.
‘Dharma’ Story:
The lead character, Rajesh Hamal is called ‘Dharmaa’ in the movie. Dharmaa is posted as the DFO of Kaliban after the poachers killed the previous DFO at the post. Dharmaa leaves his wife Gauri (Manisha Koirala) hat home with his brother Abhaya (Samyog Pokharel) and sister-in-law, Diya (Anu Shah). The poachers and the police in the Kaliban area had teamed up to smuggle the timber from the forest. Nikhil Upreti is featured as DSP Ajit Jung who investigate the incidents at the Kaliban. Two new Nepali movies were released in theater on Friday, April 29, 2016. Both Suraj Singh Thakuri starrer ‘Junge’ and Jiwan Luitel starrer ‘Baazigar’ are action movies – one targeted to the multiplex viewers and another to the single theater viewers respectively.
Junge
The movie featuring Suraj Singh Thakuri and Richa Sharma in leading role is considered an awaited movie because of the trailer, star cast and film making style. Other notable actors in the move are Anup Baral and Dipasikha Shahi. The content and style scene in the trailer had been appreciated. Actress Richa is featured as a hot queen – in negative role. ‘Junge’ is directed by Utkal Thapa. The cinematographer is Susan Prajapati, Subash Koirala has written the script and the dialogue is written bySS Agraj. Today, on Friday, March 18, 2016 two Nepali movies – ‘Bhaag Saani Bhaag’ and ‘Lakshya’ are released. the movie featuring Keki Adhikari and Sabin Shrestha had been highly promoted in various parts of the country including Pokhara, Chitwan and other cities by the lead actors Keki and Sabin.
On Monday, January 4, Rajesh Hamal was seen in a female appearance – wearing saree, blouse and a huge bindi on forehead. The get up was for his upcoming movie ‘Sakuntala’. Rajesh is being featured in a female’s role in the movie as the lead character of the female-oriented movie.

Two weeks ago when the movie was announced in a press meet, Rajesh and the film team had kept Rajesh Hamal’s role in the movie. Rajesh had given a clue by saying, “Sakuntala can be anybody. A male can be Sakuntala and a female can also be Sakuntala.’
The actress Anu Shah had told that her role would be that of a journalist and she had asked the journalists in the press meet to wait till the first look or the shooting of the movie to know the truth about the leading character.
Although Rajesh Hamal has slowed down in signing new films, he hasn’t taken break yet. As the release date of his movie ‘Bagmati’ nears, Rajesh has signed to act in movie named ‘Shakuntala’. The news of the signing in of another movie at the time of the release of the movie ‘Bagmati’, on January 8 is a sign that Hamal is still active in movies.
The movie ‘Sakuntala’ is being directed by Dinesh Shrestha. The movie features actress Anu Shah opposite to Rajesh. Director Shrestha said that the movie is a female-oriented movie with action and social drama. Anu has told that her role is that of a journalist. Both Anu Shah and Rajesh Hamal didn’t reveal much about the story of the movie. Rajesh told that he has signed up because he liked the concept. All Rajesh told was that ‘Sakuntala’ can be either male or female.
On the Christmas Day Nepali movie ‘Dhauli’ is going to release in the theaters out of Kathmandu. The movie will come to Kathmandu on the New Year day, January 1, 2016. The first look trailer of the movie was released in a program held in Kathmandu on December 13. In the press meet, the director told that ‘Dhauli’ team will present the pure organic Nepali taste.
The movie made in a rural setting featuring Bishnu Gautam and Gita Adhikari in the leading roles. Two posters released by the film team feature Bishnu and Gita in them. The movie is set in Bhurjung village in Kaski.
The actor Bishnu Gautam says that the movie also shows the desire of love in the people of feudal in nature. Gautam is a professor and he had also worked as a journalist. In the movie he is featured as the feudal landowner. The actress Gita Adhikari had previously worked in more than a quarter century feature films and telefilms.
Other main actors in the movie include Gajit Bista, Anu Shah, Prakash Ghimire, Shambhu Thapa and Bidhya Karki.
The Nepali movie ‘Milap’ is a presentation of Om Pratik. The movie features the music of Bikash Chaudhary, cinematography of Niraj Kandel, editing by Mitra Dev Gurung, and produced by Min Bahadru Tamang. The child artists in the movie are Parina Thapa and Shaktiman Tamang.
This Friday, on November 6, 2015 new Nepali movie ‘Nagarik’. The movie directed by Bimal Poudel features Bishow Basnet, Anu Shah, Puspa Acharya, Sarita Giri, Ganesh Upreti, Ramesh Budhathoki etc. The cinematographer of the movie is Raju Thapa and the movie is produced by Ayushree Rajbhandari and Sarbhani Rajya Dulal. The movie features the music of Laxman Shesh, lyrics of Puspa Acharya.
The movie made on political theme, ‘Nagarik’ is being released in 40 theaters all over Nepal. The movie features the incidents from the political change of 2007 BS to the current condition. The director, Bimal Poudel, says that the movie fits in the current political condition and he expects the viewers to like it.
