In an Instagram post, Miss Nepal 2018, Shrinkhala Khatiwada has spoken against bullying. She writes, “I whole heartedly support the body positivity movement and have been voicing out about your own choices, makeup or no makeup. But, I don’t support bullying. Be it bullying a miss Nepal participant or be it bullying a trainer.”

Shrinkhala claims that the problem is not against an individual but the whole concept of beauty pageant. She writes, “I’m a Miss Nepal at the moment and I often have times when I question the relevance of pageants at all. It’s a never ending battle with my mind. I’ve seen the good and the bad. I was lucky to see mostly the goods of the pageant but there’s more to it.”
About the current incident, Shrinkhala writes, “Right now, we are attacking a single individual instead of questioning the entire practice. If we need a long term solution, we need to move away from hate towards one individual and think deeper. Elese, this will just be another Kanda and will soon be forgotten.”
If you ask me, it is just another Kanda and there is nothing to be done.
