Nepali Movies – A clash between old and new generations

For the last two decades, Nepali film industry has been ruled by and his craze hasn’t diminished to date. The new comer actors had tried to follow his path, but none have succeeded. Hamal represents masala types of movies with common ingredients like action, comedy, songs, and glamorous actresses.

After the release of "Sano Sansar" and "Kagbeni", Nepali movies had stepped in new direction creating a sharp contrast between the two groups of film makers.

Loot – A Nepali movie review

Loot‘ is a Nepali movie. It doesn’t cater the Bollywood flavor. Although the concept of item songs comes from Bollywood, and Loot has made a full use of it, that hasn’t ruined the Nepaliness in the movie.

The item song ‘Udhreko Choli’ and it’s popularity has helped in the marketing of the movie. But, that is not the whole story.Simplicity in story, the style of story telling, better than average acting, no nonsense scenes in the movie are some of the positive aspects in ‘Loot’.

"First Love" features Namrata Shrestha as guest artist

People have high expectation from Simosh Sunwar’s First Love. Although the movie was told to be based on an original story, it was later found that the story was copied from a 1982 Hollywood movie, The Last American Virgin. The success would certainly depend on how well Simosh has copied it.

The film crew had done a good job in hiding the fact that Namrata Shrestha is also featured in the movie. Many were surprised to see Namrata during the audio release of the movie but none suspected about her acting in the movie. It wasn’t until the premier, the fact about Namrata’s role in the movie was known.

Namrata’s role in the movie however is very short. She is acting in it as a guest actress and she appears at the end of the movie.

"First Love" premiered

The movie directed by Simosh Sunwar, ‘First Love’ was premiered in JayaNepal theater, Kathmandu on Thursday. The movie is released all over Nepal on Friday, August 6, 2010.

Before the premier ceremony, a cocktail party was organized for the movie technicians, journalists, and movie artists present in the ceremony.

First Love, produced by Narendra Maharjan and Madhav Wagle, features Aryan Sigdel, Nisha Sharma, Binaya Shrestha, Richa Sharma, and Sabin Shrestha in main roles.
