She wrote, “When one appointment cost 50,00,000 (50 Lakh) how can Congress win…”
The decision to appoint Nikita was made on the cabinet meeting held on December 11, 2017. In the meeting the minister of Information Mohan Basnet had proposed Nikita Poudel for the post. The proposal was approved by the meeting. Apart from being a businessman, Nikita’s father is also the secretary of Kamal Thapa’s Rastriya Prajatantra Party. When the Constituent Assembly (CA) membership hopeful film directors Deepak Shrestha and Himgyap Lama couldn’t make it to the CPN (Maoist) list, there will be no film artists to represent in the current CA.
They were included in the preliminary list of CA members under the proportional representation (PR) electoral system. In the similar way, actor Bhuwan KC also couldn’t make it to the list of CPN (UML). Bhuwan has organized a press meet in protest of being rejected twice by the party.
The current election is considered to be one of the most important step towards the future of Nepal as a country. For that reason, most of the artists of the Nepali film industry have been actively participating in the election awareness. Most of them have joined one of the many political parties and those who haven’t joined any party are also actively participating in the awareness of people about their voting rights.

Salon Basnet – son of actor and director Shovit Basnet is also debuting in ‘Hostel’.
