In the contest held in Pokhara on July 7, Saturday, Miss Ranjana Thapa Magar is crowned the Miss Magar 2012 title.
There were a total of 23 contestants in the second edition of Miss Magar beauty contest. Miss Magar Ranjana Thapa Magar was awarded the crown and a cash prize of Rs. 25,000. 20-year old beauty Ranjana hails from Tanahun, Dulegauda and has completed plus two.
In the contest, 21-year-old Miss Anita Thapa Magar was awarded the first runner-up title and a cash prize of Rs. 15,000. The second runner-up Shanti Tilija Magar was awarded a cash prize of Rs. 10,000.
Little Lady Talent Show, another contest of girls between ages of 9 to 11, was held in Kathmandu on Tuesday.  This year, 10 Years old Sumi Gamaal of Syuchatar, won the title ‘Little Lady ‘along with cash prize Rs 5000.
 10 years old of Kalimati, Najejda Tamrakar became the First Runner up and 9 years old Shuvekchha Shakha of Bhaktapur became the Second Runner up. First and Second Runner up received cash prize Rs 4000 and Rs 3000 respectively.
Other title winner little ladies according to Nagarik news are:   Talent- 10 years old Yesna Adhikari, Popular- 11 years old Supriya Khadka, Dress- 10 years old Najejda Tamrakar, Photogenic-9 years old Cristina Dhoju, Discipline- 9 years old Sunistha Shakya, Friendship- Prism Vaidya.

Miss Rai 2012 beauty pageant is going to be held on Ashad 23, 2069 (July 7, 2012). Miss Rai contest is organized by Kirat Rai Sanskritik Kendra. The contest will be held in Rastriya Nachghar in Jamal, Kathmandu. The event starts at 2:00 PM on Saturday July 7.

Catwalk in swim wear and bikini by Nepalese girl in Nepal may not have been heard by all yet. But it has happened in swimming pool of New Dakshinkali Village Resort on June 15.
 In the event managed by Creative Event Network International (CNI), nine models Sony Khadka, Anjana, Sruti, Bini, Reshma, Sujata, Namrata, Junu and Sabina presented the swim wear and bikini design of designer Natasha Khimka and Somnath Niraula.
Before the fashion starts at 4Â PM, visitors were enjoying pool side dance party on the music played by DJ Splash, Rupesh or Rob from 2 PM. By that time the choreographer Pratima Shrestha and her assistants Srijana and Reshma were preparing models for the catwalk.
 Two sequences of fashion show were shown in half an hour and after that again DJs started to play music for dance. Four models started to dance in swimming pool splashing water on each other. Others also joined them, some in swimming pool and some out of the pool.

21 years old Sabina Maharjan was crowned Miss Jyapu 2012 which is the beauty contest between women from Jyapu Community like caste of Suwal, Singh, Dangol, Maharjan, Prajapati, Awale, Munikar and Kisan etc. It was held on 17th June at Nepal Academy Hall, Kamaladi and Sabina received Rs 25000 cash prize on winning the tile.
Likewise, Runa Maharjan, 23, won the title 1st Runner Up and another Sabina Maharjan of 17 years old won the title 2nd Runner Up. They received cash prize of Rs 15000 and Rs 10000 respectively. In this beauty peagant organized by Nasa Mandal, Miss Jyapu 2012 title owner Sabina also become Miss Talent and received additional Rs 5000 cash prize.
The model turned beauty-queen, Miss Nepal 2012, Shristi Shrestha is at present in UK for two weeks and will attend training sessions for the upcoming Miss World pageant that will be held in China in August this year.
 Shristi has recently visited Siraha after the massive fire broke out on May 15 and is on a mission to collect unwanted clothes and raise funds to help rehabilitate the victims.

All Nepal Band Competition is going to be organized at various cities of Nepal with a title “SongNepal XclusiveZ Band Clash 2012- A Road to Musical Fameâ€. It has been anticipated as one of the biggest music competitions in the country covering five major cities in Nepal: Pokhara, Butwal, Narayangarh, Dharan, and Kathmandu.
In the competition, every Band should perform two songs including at least one original song and all Genres are eligible for performance. It includes Metal, Rock, Hardcore / Punk, Pop, Jazz, Blues and Hip-Hop / R’n’B. Grand Finale Battle will be held on 18th August 2012, at Bhrikuti Mandap, Kathmandu.
Winner of Band Clash will receive Rs. 1 Lakh Cash Prize, Album Recording, Music Video, Online Promotion of worth Rs 30,000, Media Coverage etc. and 1st Runner up will recieve Rs. 50,000 Cash Prize, Music Video, Song Recording, Online Promotion of worth Rs 20,000, Media Coverage etc. Collaboration Album of Top 10 Bands will also be recorded.

18th Hidden Treasure Miss Nepal 2012 is being held in Kathmandu on Sunday, Baisakh 24 in an open theater of Annapurna Hotel. The contest is being held among 16 beauties from different parts of country including four from Kathmandu, two from Lalitpur, two from Chitwan and one each from Kirtipur, Mahendranagar, Dharan, Jhapa, Butwal, Birgunj, and Pokhara. The contestant 11 Rashmita Maharjan had withdrawn from the Miss Nepal contest in the last minute because of health problem. Rashmita had fractured her hand when she fell down her home. The 21-year old model, Rashmita, was the winner of Image Mega Model Season 2.
Miss Nepal contest is held every year amongst unmarried Nepali beauties aged between 19 and 25 years. The contestants should be at least +2 passed and should be at least 5feet 4 inch tall. We will update this page with the winner of the Miss Nepal 2012 crown later today.

A team comprising of 11 mountaineers including the central committee member of Communist Party of Nepal (Maoist) Krishna KC and Chairman Prachanda’s son Prakash Dahal have headed to climb 6,000 m high Langtang mountain. This climb is in preparation of climbing the Mount Everest.
After the intention to climb the world’s highest peak, party’s team had been practicing mountain climbing for the last few months. After the 20 days climbing training in Langtang, the team is ex
pected to climb Mt. Everest in this year’s season.
The Mt. Everest climbing team includes Krishna KC, Prakash Dahal, Yuvaraj Dulal, Bina Magar, Shivakumar Dangi, Mukunda Pokharel, Dinesh Shrestha, Ishu Bhatta, Madan Chudal and Maheshowr Phuyal.

We already have various ethnic beauty contests like Miss Newa, Miss Gurung, Miss Sherpa, Miss Tamang and so on. It seems such ethnic contests haven’t been able to include all the sub-ethnic communities. That might be the reason Miss Jyapu is going to be organized soon. Jyapu is a small sub-community within Newa or Newar community, opting agriculture as their profession. By default, Miss Newa is supposed to include all the beauties from Jyapu community.
Miss Jyapu 2012 is going to be organized on March 17, 2012 (Chaitra 4. 2068 BS) and application for the beauties of age between 18 and 24 is open now. The particip
ants will be taught about the traditional agricultural practices and typical Newari tradition.
After Miss Jyapu (agriculture professionals) it seems, we will have more beauty contests like Miss Gubhaju (Newari Priests), Miss Shrestha (Merchants), Miss Pode (fishermen, sweepers), Miss Chyami (sweepers) and so on in the near future.
