Hari Bansha Acharya sang a song in ‘Chha Ekan Chha’

The ‘Ha’ of MaHa, Hari Bansha Acharya had sung a song in an upcoming movie ‘Chha Ekan Chha’. The comedy movie produced by Deepak Raj Giri features popular comedy actors in leading roles. The song titled ‘Mero Maya Timilai’ also features the voice of another comedy actor, Kiran KC.

For Hari Bansha, it wasn’t easy singing after a long gap. In the past, he had given voice to a number of songs and had also released a music album. The recording was done on the second week of November.

Happy Birthday Hari Bansha Acharya

Kartik 27 is Hari Bansha Acharya‘s birthday. He was born on Kartik 27, 2014 BS (October 9, 1958) in Gairidhara, Kathmandu. Although the English date was on Saturday, the Nepali birthday is today (October 13).

The only son of father Homanjaya Acharya and mother Ganesh Kumari, Hari Bansha struggled to establish himself as a comedy artist for about six years until he met Madan Krishna Shrestha. The duo Madan Krishna and Hari Bansha ruled the comedy sector for the last three decades (source).

Nepali Film Festival and Fashion show held in New York on 31st ANA convention

On the occasion of the 31st convention of American Nepali Association (ANA) held on July 4 to July 6, Nepali movies  were shown on each day. In addition to Nepali films, popular comedy actors Madan Krishna Shrestha and  Hari Bansha Acharya (MaHa) also conducted a comedy program. MaHa’s program was one of the the main attractions of the event.

The movies featured in the convention include ‘Highway’, ‘Badhshala’, and ‘Visa Girl‘ on the first day. On the second day ‘Chadke’ ‘Mutu’ and ‘Uma’ were screened. The cost of each show was set at $10.

Five nominated for Pulsar popular player

On Thursday, five players have been nominated for Nepal Sports Journalists Forum (NSJF) Popular Player of the Year 2068.

Midfielder cum striker of national football team, Bharat Khawas, Nepal´s no 1 tennis player, Aslesha Lissanevitch,  cricket player Shakti Gauchan, Sabita Chaudhary of athletics and Ramila Tandukar of volleyball are nominated for the popular player of the year category under the Pulsar Sports Award at the Nepal Tourism Board. Who will be the winner among these nominees will be finalized through SMS voting during the Sports Award which will be held on July 4.

NSJF is annually conducting the Sports Award. On the basis of performance, sports persons are nominated in eight different categories: Pulsar player of the year male and female, youth player, coach, para athlete, lifetime achievement award, special award and popular player of the year.

This year, 55.5 percent of the examiners passed the SLC exam. That was about 9 percent less than the previous year. There were 5,54,022 examinees out of which 2,30,499 had passed.

Street children got distinction in SLC

Street children passed SLC exam that also with distinction mark. Hard work of 17 years old Gopal Lama has rewarded him.

Both mother and father have left Lama in the childhood. Father married another girl when his mother was pregnant and his mother also married another person after few years of his birth turning him to street children and his home became street.

According to nagarik news, he has struggled as street children in Kathmandu and Chitwan. During this struggle, he has realized the value of study, but, got chance to study when he started to stay in “Hamro Ghar”, NGO in Narayangadh, involved in caring street children.

Street boy, Lama has got 83.12% and shows street children are also not less than those who study spending huge amount of money in tuition and expensive schools.

Hari Bansha married second time

Renowned comedian Hari Bansha Acharya has married again today evening with Ramila Pathak at a simple ceremony. Hari Bansha’s first wife, Meera Acharya, has died one year ago in April.

It is learnt that Hari Bansha has married on request of his family, relatives and well-wishers. Very few members of the families and close friends were present in his short wedding rituals held at the residence of the bride´s sister at Gongabu in Kathmandu on Thursday.

Fifty five-year-old Acharya has two sons Mohit Acharya and Trilok Acharya from his first wife whom he has married 30 years ago and Ramila has a 21-year-old son from her earlier marriage and her husband had died 10 years ago in an accident. Ramila is 10 years younger than Hari Bansha.

Madan Krishna Shrestha, another famous comedian of Ma-Ha duo has sent best wishes to new Acharya couple from Bangkok as Madan Krishna is at present there for treatment of his wife.  (Photo credit: Facebook)

Oli says – his PhD is not fake

CPN UML leader KP Oli told that the honorary PhD he received from a so-called-university is not fake and he is not willing to give it up.

After the news about the university being fake, most of the receivers of the honorary PhDs degree – Madan Krishna, Hari Bamsha and Kantipur’s Rameshowr Thapa have already given-up the degree with the exception for the two political leaders – KP Oli and Bijaya Kumar Gachhedar.

Nagarik reports that KP Oli, who is currently in the US, has told that he has studied the legal papers of the university and he is confident both the university and the degree he has received, are legal.

Fake PhDs, real leaders and artists – Can only happen in Nepal

Yes, it can only happen in Nepal!

In a program, in which the the Chairman of the Constituent Assembly, Subhash Newang, was the chief guest, high level officials and reputed personals were handed over fake honorary PhD certificates. The Deputy Prime Minister (DPM) Bijaya Kumar Gachhedar, UML leader KP Oli, Madan Krishna Shrestha, and Hari bamsha Acharya were some of the ‘lucky’ people to received the honorary PhD degree.
