A program was held by NEFTA last week (June 20) to announce the 8th edition of the Nepali movie award program. The announcement was made among various film artists and technicians by cutting a cake and clapping a clap board.
NEFTA also welcomed the new chief of Film Development Board (FDB), Raj Kumar Rai. Raj Kumar suggested the organizers to have young film makers in the jury.
According to Manoj KC, the movies released from Baisakh 1, 2017 to Chaitra 30, 2071 will be included in the award. Dates and other details of the program is yet to be revealed although the program is scheduled at the festive season Dashain – Tihar.
Nepali actress Karishma Manandhar missed the big day of her daughter Kabita Manandhar, who had arrived home from the USA to celebrate her birthday. As Kabita cut the cake, all Karishma could do was to thank her mentor Anjali who had made arrangement of Kabita’s birthday at home. Kabita celebrated her birthday by cutting a cake at home in Godavari with her father Binod Manandhar.
As you can see, from the photo above, Karishma is not happy going to Doha this time. That is because, her daughter Kabita Manandhar is returning back to Nepal after she flew to Doha. That is not all, she will also miss Kabita’s birthday that falls on December 17. According to Nepaliactress.com, Kabita’s plan to surprise Karishma by arriving unannounced was spoiled when Karishma couldn’t change the plan to go to Doha.
Actress Karishma Manandhar is visiting Qatar to participate in the New Year and Qatar National Day Musical Show in Doha. The event to be held on December 18 will feature solo and group dances, songs and other cultural programs.
The attraction of the program include Karishma, popular singer Pramila Tamang and Swor Sangram winner Dhruba Tamang. The venue of the cultural program in Holiday Villa Hotel.
On the occasion of new year, Nepali movie “9 O’clock” is going to be premiered in Doha, Qatar. Aryan films presentation “9 O’clock” is produced by Ramesh Sambedana and directed by Baburam Dhakal.
The movie was draggedÂ into controversy when the FDB refused to let it go on floor because of unacceptable script. That was not all, the movie was previously called ‘A69’ and when the name was linked to sex position, it was renamed by a less-suggestive name. But, now it
has passed all hurdles and all set to release.
Nepali movie ‘Kollywood’ is going to be premiered in Doha, Qatar on January 11, 2013. The International Artist Forum(IAF) Qatar is organizing the premier show of the movie made on the story of struggle done by a typical newcomer actress in Nepali movie industry.
The movie will be featured in Doha Cinema Hall at 11:30 AM and 2:30 PM. In the show, ‘Kollywood’ actors Priyanka Karki, Aryan Sigdel, and other team members will also be present during the show.
