A presentation of Kisan Pokharel for Rodi Films banner, Nepali movie ‘Aago’ was a controversial movie. The government wasn’t happy by the movie so, it had seized the photo-negative of movie. The movie was converted into digital format. ‘Aago’ became super hit movie of its time. To cash the popularity and success of the movie it’s sequel movie ‘Aago 2’ was also made and was released in January 2015. But, the sequel wasn’t that successful in winning the hearts of the viewers.

The Nepali movie ‘Sagun’ is a presentation of Creative Hands, is subtitled ‘An explosive love story’. Please don’t confuse this movie with another ‘Sagun’, a Tamang culture film.
The lead actors Rabi Basnet and Juli Thapa are the new presentation in the movie. Bijay Deuja is also a new presentation in the film. While Basundhara Bhusal is a guest artist, special attraction are Shiva Shrestha and Bipana Thapa. Based on the story of Bikash Acharya, the script was written jointly by Suraj Subba and Deepak Giri. The movie ‘Papi Manche’ is produced by Raj Kumar Rai for RC Pictures and is made on the story and script of Ugesh Rayamajhi. After the huge success of this film, a sequel ‘Papi Manche 2’ was also produced (watch ‘Papi Manche 2’ here) with Nikhil and Poojana Pradhan. Rajesh Hamal is featured in special appearance. Narayan Puri and NB Maharjan are guest artists. A Nepal Police dog named Hero and a monkey named Shyamu from Mumbai are also the leading characters in the film.

A program was held by NEFTA last week (June 20) to announce the 8th edition of the Nepali movie award program. The announcement was made among various film artists and technicians by cutting a cake and clapping a clap board.
NEFTA also welcomed the new chief of Film Development Board (FDB), Raj Kumar Rai. Raj Kumar suggested the organizers to have young film makers in the jury.
According to Manoj KC, the movies released from Baisakh 1, 2017 to Chaitra 30, 2071 will be included in the award. Dates and other details of the program is yet to be revealed although the program is scheduled at the festive season Dashain – Tihar.
‘Sannani’ is a presentation by Deepak Malhotra of The Team Pvt. Ltd. for Devi Ganga Chalchitra Nirman Mandir. The movie made the the story of Bikash Acharya also features actress Tulasa Silwal in a special appearance.
Nepali movie industry is largely influenced by Indian movie industry, Bollywood. Similar to Bollywood, it is easier for the kids of actors and film technicians to enter the film industry. Some of the names of second generation artists in Nepali industry include:
