It has been a new trend in Nepali actresses to show their underwear by wearing miniskirts in public function. The actresses who want to show off their clothes underneath, they usually wear them of contrasting colors. For example, in the following photo Jharana Thapa was seen wearing a pink underwear under her black mini-skirt. The photo was taken at the Box Office Award nomination ceremony. Jharana was also nominated for the best actress award for her role in the movie ‘Premika’.
A while ago another actress Shilpa Pokharel wore a very short skirt in a function and showed off the cloth underneath (photo at the end of the post).
In 2040 BS Chhabi Raj Ojha started the distribution of Hindi movie. He moved to Kathmandu for the distribution. The first Nepali movie he distributed was ‘Bhagya Rekha’ – a movie produced by Chiranjivi Basnet and directed by Deepak Rayamajhi. The movie wasn’t successful commercially. He had also gone to Madras for the post production of the movie. After the failure of ‘Bhagyarekha’, Chhabi proposed a concept to Deepak Rayamajhi and promised to finance it.

One of the top producers of Nepali film industry, Chhabi Raj Ojha has announced that he won’t marry again. The 48-years-old businessman was responding to the rumor of his proposal to the actress of his upcoming movie, ‘Lazza’. A rumor of the actress Shilpa Pokharel being proposed by Chhabi was published in online and offline media. We also talked about it although we were skeptical on the news.
Talking to an online magazine, Chhabi told that after reviewing his marital history he doesn’t want to marry again. He told, "I don’t have faith in women anymore. Don’t talk about marriage." He also told that he won’t be proposing anybody after the divorce with Rekha Thapa. Chhabi says that he has failed in matters related to marriage. Now, he says that the cinema is his home and his life partner.
In a latest rumor, producer and ex-husband of Rekha Thapa has proposed Shilpa Pokharel for marriage. The producer has been very unlucky when marriage is concerned.
In a music video award ‘Rastriya Rapti Music Award 2070’ to be held soon, all the nominated music video models are actresses. The nominated actresses include: Keki Adhikari, Binita Baral, Nandita KC, Jharana Thapa, and Shilpa Pokharel. Four out of the five nominated models are established film actress. The only model, Shilpa is also going to be featured in Chhabi Raj Ojha‘s upcoming movie ‘Lazza’.
The inauguration of an upcoming movie ‘Lazza’ was held in the Ganesh mandir of Kamaladi on October 28. Producer Chhabi Raj Ojha and director Nawal Nepal inaugurated the movie by offering puja in the temple. Chhabi’s another movie ‘Loafer’ is releasing in theater on Mangsir 21.
Although the movie was inaugurated on Monday, the shooting will not start until after the Tihar festival. In the mean time the lead actor Aryan Sigdel is busy in his home production ‘November Rain’. The movie is the debut movie of Aryan’s opposite Shilpa Pokharel. Shilpa, a well known model in music videos, has taken a formal training on acting in preparation of the movie.
The District Court, Achham, sent three policemen to up to six years in prison for their involvement in raping police constable Suntali Dhami.
A single bench of judge Prakash Kharel on Thursday convicted head constables Birendra Bam and Karbir Thalal and constable Jagadish Pandey. While Bam was handed down a six-year imprisonment, Thala and Pandey were sent behind bars for three years. The court also ordered Bam to pay Rs 100,000 to the victim.
Constable Dhami had filed a case accusing her colleagues of raping her while she was on duty on the night of 27 September 2009. The accused cops were suspended from their jobs, arrested on October 7 and sent to detention on 2 November 2009.
ASI Dansingh Bhandari, Head Constable Biradatta Badu and Constable Naribhan Mahatara, who were also detained with the three accused, were, however, released on 1 November 2009, citing their non-involvement in the case.
Kin of one of the convicts, Head Constable Thalal, said they would move appellate court against the decision.
