CPN Maoist are protesting for “people’s supremacy” and their own supremacy in the government for the last few days. Yesterday, they were encircling Singh Durbar, the government headquarter. More than 100 thousand people were brought in Kathmandu for the event. One person died when a bus carrying the protestors to Kathmandu met with an accident. The protest was mostly peaceful except an incident of clash with the police at one location. The protestor were dancing on street as usual.

In yesterday’s event film artists were also present to support the protest. A rare sight – Maoist supreme Puspa Kamal Dahal (Prachanda) was dancing on a song “Lalu-pate nughyo bhui tira …” sung by one of the leading actress of Nepali movies, Rekha Thapa.
Lonely Planet, the largest travel guide-book and digital media publisher in the world, has prepared a list of top 10 countries to travel in 2010. It is good to know that Nepal is one of them.
It is not clear what ranking Nepal is in in the list but it sure is good to know people think Nepal one of the best places in the world. Some news sites like Nepalnews said Nepal was 6th in the ranking – which is not true. The countries are listed alphabetically and hence Nepal is sixth in the publication. That doesn’t mean Nepal is sixth in ranking. It can be first or can also be tenth.

The 21 year old “Mr. John†(Amit Gautam) of Samakhusi Kathmandu is arrested in Kathmandu along with students, models and celebrities (the word is misspelled in the website). Amit, who was arrested in Naxal, was acting as contact point for the website based prostitution in Nepal. The racket is actually led by Indian in New Delhi and the girls were being supplied mainly to Indian nationals visiting Nepal. Amit was being helped by Sangita Shrestha
Sangeeta Shrestha, 33, a resident of Tahachal who was mastermind in arranging girls for the business was also arrested from her home.

Bhuwan KC is one of the hit actors of Nepali movies. He has acted in over a hundred Nepali films. He has acted in some some foreign films too. His first successful movie, Kusume Rumal, was released in 1985.
Bhuwan KC was the only real hero at his time but as he grew older he couldn’t get much offers for new movies so he plunged into film production. He has produced some successful Nepali films like Karodpati, Nepali Babu, Ma Timi Bina Marihalchhu etc.

In the eve of notorious Gadhimai Mela, a two day religious event, to be held from November 22, the issue of animal sacrifice is raised in every parts of Nepal. The mela is held at Bariyapur VDC of Bara district, every five years. Millions of people from India and Nepal come to the place to sacrifice thousands of animals. The “Buddha Boy†Ram Bahadur Bomjan who is meditating nearby in the jungle asked the organizers and the local authorities to stop such inhuman activities.

Nobody is perfect. Somebody are more beautiful and others are a bit less.
Current Miss Nepal, Zenisha Moktan, is good enough as long as she is not smiling. But smiling is one of the most important aspect of beauty. I don’t know whether the judges saw her ‘big’ smile or not; but, the viewers surely saw some shortcomings in her and hence, there were some negative comments on the news post about the Miss Nepal event I posted previously. When she smiles – big enough – it is more of the gums that shows off rather than the teeth.
Now she is going to participate in the Miss World and she is a bit more serious about her looks. According to Nepal Samacharpatra daily, she has made five of her teeth to look better for the upcoming event. She went to Dr. Sushil Koirala to cut some parts of her gums and put caps on her small teeth. The operation took two weeks and the result – big teeth, better smile.

There were 16 male participants and 13 female participants in the contest. Rabindra won “Most Popular†and viewer’s choice awards along with the Mr. Kathmandu titles. Rajani also own “Most Talented†title.
Niraj Shrestha and Soni Tamang were the first runner-ups in the event. Raju Maharjan and Rajina Tamang won the second runner-up titles.
Nikhil Upreti was born Dinesh Upreti on 2032 Jestha 2 in Sarlahi. Nikhil is the youngest son of father Govinda Upreti and mother Bhojkumari Upreti. Nihil has a older brother and two elder sisters. CPN Maoist in Nepal is in street against the current government. It is good they are not burning tires or breaking fences. They are singing and dancing and to protest the government. If every protest were like the ones we can see on street these days we wouldn’t have such a detest to such activities in future.

Looks like she wanted people to know her. That might be the reason why she is telling that she has no problem shedding clothes in movies.
Well, she is an actress and her debut movie “The Most Wanted†isn’t released yet. She is also signed in another unnamed movie. Apart from playing in movies she had played in some music videos and two video films named Jawaf and Dushman, in the past.
