At last, Nekita Poudel resigned (Minister Gokul Baskota should be celebrating)

A tussle between the government and a political appointee of the previous government has ended after she couldn’t sustain the pressure. I guess, it wasn’t a pleasant experience working with a minister who had actually removed you from the post previously. The minister of information and technology, Gokul Baskota wasn’t a fan of the chairman of Film Development Board. The daughter of a film maker Uddav Poudel, Nekita Poudel, had managed to get appointed to the post at the time when the Sher Bahadur Deuba government was paving way for KP Oli to take over. The appointment was against the warning of KP Oli. Keeping his promise, KP had removed Poudel from the post. But, the Supreme Court had reinstalled her to the seat.

Now, when the minister had ordered his subordinate to start the procedure of her removal from the post, Nekita has resigned from the post.

Rajesh Hamal starts Ko Banchha Crorepati (KBC Nepal)

The first episode of the Nepali version of Who wants to be a Millionaire has started in Nepal. The winner of the contest is awarded Rs. 1 million (which is 100 times less than a $1 million that the winners of US contest win).

The show is similar to the show held in India by Indian actor Amitabh Bachchan. For the show, the host, Rajesh Hamal, had redesigned his hair style. Rajesh Hamal is known for his slightly longer hair. He used to be strict when his hair style was concerned. He didn’t change his hair style throughout his acting career.

BS Rana – Rest in Peace (RIP)

Well known film artist, BS Rana, has died on February 1, 2019. He was sick for a while and was being treated in Teaching Hospital, Kathmandu.

BS Rana is known for his role as Jung Bahadur Rana in ‘Seto Bhag’. He was also featured in ‘Basanti’ and a lot of other films. (BS Rana films)

Sushma Karki item song of Gupt film, are people missing the Udreko Choli girl?

While music videos of songs get millions of views in a couple of days, the item song of popular actress and item dancer, Sushma Karki didn’t get much views in it’s initial days.

The item song of upcoming movie ‘Gupt’ titled “Ma Aankh Maridinchu” got a lukewarm support from the viewers. While others are showing-off millions of views, the cover art of the song (proudly) shows 100K views, and features a hot photo of the actress. It is interesting, the photo on the cover is not even from the it represents.

Does that mean, the days of Sushma Karki are over?

But, when I looked in the comments in the song, most of them are positive and at the time of this writing the views stats is 152,113 views with 1.7K likes and only 264 dislikes. I think, the video will get a better viewership in coming day (finger crossed).

Weak Heart of Paras Shah

The heart of Paras Shah is the heart of the Nepali royal blood. But, it seems, the royal heart is not as strong as believed. In medical terms, the royal heart suffers attacks.

Starting King Tribhuwan, all the monarchs had heart attack and heart failures. Tribhuwan died of heart failure, his son King Mahendra died from the same cause. Tribhuwan’s grandson King Birendra had also suffered from heart attack in 1998. But, Birendra died in royal massacre.

The next king, King Gyanendra also suffered heart attack in 2014. He was hospitalized in 2017.

Paras is the only son of King Gyanendra. So, Paras has the similar heart when compared to hsi parents, grand parents and the great great grandparent.

42 wives of Jung Bahadur, Oh my goodness!

Jung Bahadur died 59 years old. He first got married when he was 10 years old. That makes – 48 years of his married life. He got a new wife almost every year. Despite of these strange facts, Jung Bahadur was a dedicated and loyal lover. He fell in love with the younger sister of his first wife – Gajendralaxmi.

But, Gajendralaxmi’s father wouldn’t let Jung Bahadur marry her and he married her off with another guy. I wrote about the love story in my previous post (Read the strange love story of Jung Bahadur). Now, let’s dive into 42 “known” wives of the dictator.

Jung Bahadur would find a way to get everything he wanted; whether it is a person or the power. He killed the prime minister to declare himself the prime minister of Nepal. He also tried to make himself the king, but failed. When it comes to women – he would get all of those he liked. He would woo them or if they are unwilling he would abduct them and bring to his palace. That was what he did Gajendralaxmi. He snatched Gajendralaxmi from her husband.

Jung Bahadur Rana strange love story – he made his girlfriend a queen

This is a very strange and ambitious love story. The story has everything – a desire, promise, tragedy, reunion and love. It would certainly be a super-hit film if made properly. The love of one of the most ruthless and powerful person in Nepal. A brave, strategist and successful person, Jung Bahadur was also a great lover.

This is an example how he obtained everything he desired for. It is really interesting how far he could go to achieve what he wants. For the girl he was attracted to, he did everything from asking for, fighting for and stealing her from her lawful husband. Although he was strong and successful, he didn’t take advantage of her. Instead, he fulfilled everything he promised her – even an impossible promise – to make her a queen.

To make his girlfriend a queen, he snatched the power from the prime minister by killing him. He resigned and declared himself the king. But, nobody accepted him the king. In the mean time, Jung Bahadur had appointed his brother the prime minister of Nepal. When, his attempt to become the king was unsuccessful – his prime minister brother died in a mysterious circumstance in less than a year of being appointed the prime minister – opening a path for Jung Bahadur to become the prime minister again.

Reecha Sharam couldn’t find the medicine of heartache (admitted to hospital)

Two days ago, Reecha wrote in Twitter “If there were were a medicine of heart ache, it would be a bestseller.” The next day, she was rushed to a hospital and was admitted for “pain in her heart”.

It seems, she wasn’t just making up a witty saying, but, literally having pain in her heart:

Barsha Raut marrying on the Valentine Day

The ‘Nai Nabhannu La 4’ debut actress Barsha Raut has announced her marriage with her long-time boyfriend Sanjog Koirala on the Valentine Day of 2019. The announcement was unexpected although they were together for more than 5 years and everybody knew they were going to get married. The announcement was made a month prior to actual marriage day. It is a coincidence that, the day is also believed to be a good day for marriage according to the ancient Hindu belief (Shubha Sait for marriage).

Barsha Raut’s boyfriend, Sanjog Koirala is also an actor. He has acted in movies like ‘Utsav’ and ‘Chhakka Panja 2’. But, Koirala is not as popular as Raut in the film industry. Sanjog is also a businessman running his own business.

Congratulation to Barsha and Sanjog for the marriage and I wish them a very lovely and long-lasting relationship.

Shrinkhala Khatiwada appointed Goodwill Ambassador for the 70th anniversary of Nepal-France relationship

According to latest report, Miss Nepal 2018, Shrinkhala Khatiwada is appointed the Goodwill Ambassador for the celebration of the 70th anniversary of Nepal-France relationship. A reigning Miss Nepal should get the approval of the organizing company The Hidden Treasure to work for any other organization. Shrinkhala has shared a photo of the chairman of the company, Gopal Kayastha to indicate that the appointment was approved by the organization. The 2019 edition of the beauty contest is underway. Shrinkhala will be relieved from her duties after she crowns the new Miss Nepal somewhere around March / April.

Namrata Shrestha goes to London, for red carpet premier of Prasad

Actress Namrata Shrestha has gone to London, UK for the screening of her new movie, ‘Prasad’. The red carpet premier of the movie will be held on January 12 at the Princess Hall of Aldershot, UK. This is the first time Namrata has visited the country.

Before the movie premier, on Friday January 11, Namrata will be present in a talk program to be held by the SOAS University of London, Nepali Society. In the program she will talk about her acting career and the Nepali film industry.

Shrinkhala controversy – Christmas hat to Chepang kids

Shrinkhala has gone through a controversy over her social work. She had donated some of the warm clothes she and her team had collected in Kathmandu to the Chepang community she is helping by building a health camp. The Christmas hat she gave the Chepang kids was questioned by some who thought she was promoting the Christian religion to the kids.
