Popular singer Anju Panta has married a lyricist, a journalist and a pastor of a Church, Thir Koirala. In a private ceremony Thir and Anju Panta got married in a Church among their close relatives and friends.
Anju had announced her love affair on the Valentine’s Day of 2021. In another occasion she had told that they had decided to get married on the last Valentine’s Day. Well known media personality Rabi Lamichhane has launched a new television channel in an event held in Kathmandu. Lamichhane had recently left News24 television to start his own venture. In the Nepal’s first 4K television channel Lamichhane’s role will be of managing director.
The new channel is named Galaxy 4K. Rabi Lamichhane’s program in his previous TV station, News 24 TV is based on a low resolution SD (standard definition) technology. 4k has many times the screen pixel compared to SD.

Actress Shweta Khadka announced the construction of Majhi Basti in 2017. For that, she had registered an organization after her late husband Shree Krishna Shrestha.

The teenage girl who was selected to be one of the Top 100 women in the world by BBC (British Broadcasting Corporation) seems to be in trouble as she parted her ways from her mentor Binaya Jung Basnet.
The shooting in the Nepali film industry has re-started now. A lot of new movies are being shot and the ones that halted are also restarting.
Currently, Aryan Sigdel and Upasana Singh Thakuri are shooing in Pokhara. They are shooting for the movie ‘December Falls‘. Upasana debuted in ‘Captain’ opposite to Anmol KC. With Upasana and ARyan the movie also features Suman Thapa Rohit, Salon Basnet, Dayaram Dahal and Naresh Bhattarai. The director of the film in Prabin Jha. After completion of the shooting in Pokhara the team will complete the movie in Kathamdnu. The movie is made on the story by BP Khanal, dialogue by Kedar Bhusal and the movie is expected to be released on Shrawan 1, 2078.

The movie directed by Dipendra K Khanal, featuring Mithila Sharma and Surakshya Panta in leading roles is released in YouTube. Right after release, the movie has been very successful in attracting a huge amount of Nepali viewers.

The movie was released right before the lockdown. The movie was taken off the theater before people watched it. It was released again after 9 months of lockdown. Khanal is also the cinematographer of the movie.

This is the third movie by the name “Aama”. The first Nepali movie was titled ‘Aama’ and was produced by Nepal government.
The second movie featured Shiva Shrestha and Saroj Khanal. The movie is not available online now.
The Contestant number 21 of Miss Nepal 2020 is Dr. Astika Shrestha. A recent graduate of MBBS is currently doing her internship. More details will be added in this post soon.
Astika graduated from St. Xavier’s school in 2012 and St. Xavier’s College, Maitighar in 2014 before she started medical studies.
After being selected one of the finalists of Miss Nepal 2020, Astika Shrestha wrote, “Hey everybody! I’m really thrilled to finally put this up on my feed! CONTESTANT NO. 21, Miss Nepal 2020. SAD TRUTH
It is obvious that Newar and Khas Women dominate Miss Nepal as winner with 20/25 wins in total. It is also the case that Women from Kathmandu Valley are more likely to be Miss Nepal. Luckily this fact is changing quickly because in the last 10 years only half of the winners were from Kathmandu Valley compared to the previous decade than this where 8/10 where from Kathmandu Valley. Also Educated Women are more likely to be Miss Nepal as well because 20/25 Winners had completed their Bachelors Degree. In my opinion Miss Nepal mirrors how ethnicities other than Newar and Khas are deprived from resources that would enable them to participate and qualify in these pageants . Continue reading

The contest finalist were selected in an event held on November 3. The audition for the contest at 9 different cities were held in March of 2020. Because of the lockdown, the contest was delayed. Now, the contest is being held with high degree of precaution.

Although some of the viewers think that Anmol KC and Suhana Thapa lacked acting skills, the viewership is exactly opposite.
‘A Mero Hajur 3 was released in 2018 and was liked by the viewers. The movie made on the story of a celebrity and his fan is produced by Sunil Kumar Thapa. The movie directed by actress Jharana Thapa is her second directional venture. Her first direction ‘A Mero Hajur 2’ was also successful. In her second movie, she had introduced her own daughter Suhana Thapa in leading role. She has signed Anmol KC in a record breaking remuneration in the Nepali film industry.
One of the most important gossip from the movie is the relationship between the lead actors, Anmol and Suhana. Suhana has told that she is highly impressed by the actor. Both of them are devotee of Lord Krishna and they have a lot of things in common. For Suhana, Anmol KC has broken his record of not-repeating-actresses in his film. Nepali actress Mithila Sharma is one of the senior most artists in the Nepali film industry. She started her entertainment career in 2030 BS at the age of nine by dancing in a program. One of the audience of her first public show was the King Birendra.

One of the most popular husband-wife couple of Nepali music industry is Uday and Manila Sotang couple.
The husband and wife have already released more than 11 albums. Their popular songs are Aadi Bato, Maya Namara, Aaja Timro, Bhijyo Sirani.
Originally from Darjeeling, Udaya and Manila came to Nepal in the late 80s to do voice tests at Radio Nepal. Today, they are some of the most celebrated artists, with huge attendance in concerts. One of Uday’s cousin was a huge fan of late Narayan Gopal. Uday used to sneak into his cousin’s room to practice in the harmonium secretly. Uday started singing early. He sang in his school and there were many fans of his in his school days. He started sining in contests in his grade eight, nine and tenth grade. Before he graduated from the school, the school offered him to release an album called Filingo. He was a successful singer even before he finished his grade ten.
On the other hand, Manila was trained by her uncle, to sing bhajans. When Manila heard Uday’s songs, she liked his voice even before she met him. When she finally met Uday, she was surprised to find him so young. Because of his voice he had expected Uday to be a lot older. They later were in the same group of singers to perform in various events. Uday was having an affair with somebody else when Manila met him. She tried to help him patch up with his girlfriend when they broke up. That instead brought her closer to Uday and they ended up marrying while Uday was studying in Grade 11. By the time he graduated from Grade 12, they already had their first child, Shreya Sotang. Now, Shreya is also a new sensation in the Nepali music industry. Shreya has already released her own album. A lot of Nepali people know Udit Narayan Jha as the most successful Nepali singer in Bollywood. But, many don’t know similarly successful Nepali singer, Poornima Shrestha. May be that is because Udit was a celebrity in Nepal before he debuted in Bollywood. In case of Poornima, she was born in Mumbai and lived her whole life in India.

Poornima debuted as a child singer in early 1970s, as Sushma Shrestha. Sushma was born to a musical family of late Bhola Shrestha. Bhola Shrestha was an accomplished music composer and a tabala player. He was active in the music industry in the 1950s and 1960s. The father was really excited about launching his daughter in Bollywood as a successful singer. He had organized a big launch event of Sushma Shrestha with high profile Bollywood guests. A day before such a great event, her father died of heart failure. That was 11 April, 1971. That was after half-a-year of the release of the film Andaz (1971), and the debut song of Sushma.
Although her father died on the day before, 10-years-old Sushma was forced to perform in the event on April 12. The event couldn’t be cancelled because of all the preparations. At the event, Bollywood personalities took note of Sushma’s talent and she also got a music scholarship to help in her music career.
At the time of her first public performance, Sushma was just 7-years old. When she sang for the Bollywood movie ‘Andaz’, she was 9 years old.
She also worked with another musical duo Kalyanji Anandji who helped her in making a successful child singer of the 70s. RD Burman also helped her to give voice to hit songs of that time. RD Burman had composed unforgettable songs for Sushma like “Tera Mujhse Hai Pehle Ka Naata Koi†of film Aa Gale Lag Jaa (1973) and “Kya Hua Tera Vaada†of film Hum Kisi Se Kum Nahi (1977).
