She had remained ‘unconscious’ for the first six months. After that she started treatment and got a little better after she went to the USA for the treatment.
She has forgotten to smile. It took her more than a year to regain the smile. In the beginning it looked like a fake smile. These days, she has learnt to be happy.

A press meet was held in Kathmandu to release the trailer of Shweta Khadka’s upcoming movie, ‘Kanchhi’. The movie directed by Akash Adhikari features Shweta with Dayahang Rai in leading roles. The trailer seems interesting because of the comedy and love story aspect. It seems, the movie has a lot of tears to watch for.
Tears has been one of the thing that hasn’t left Shweta for a long time now. Let me discuss her comeback in a separate heading:
Shweta Khadka comeback
Actress Shweta Khadka is making comeback in the Nepali film industry in February with her first movie after the death of her husband, actor Shree Krishna Shrestha, in 2014. Shrestha died after a month of their marriage, a day before the release of their movie ‘Kohinoor’. In the movie, Shweta and Shree Krishna were featured in leading roles. After the death of her husband, Shweta went on a long depression and mourning. After much treatment she has recovered and has produced ‘Kanchhi’ under Kaya Films banner. Shree Krishna used to produce movies under Nepa Films banner. Continue reading
The clash between two of the most awaited movies of the year has been avoided after ‘Kanchhi’ decided to re-schedule the release date of the movie. Earlier, both ‘Kri’ and ‘Kanchhi’ had announced the release of the movie on February 9, 2018. Anmol’s highly awaited movie was delayed more than once before. I had also prepared a video report on the release date controversy earlier (video attached at the end of the post.)
Now, Shweta Khadka, has told that she is willing to get flexible and let ‘Kri’ release on that day. The new schedule, a week later, on February 16, 2018 isn’t risk-free either. That is because, Chhabi Raj Ojha’s movie ‘Mangalam’ is also releasing on February 16. Chhabi’s movie was previously scheduled to release on Dashain but was delayed to let ‘Chhakka Panja 2’ to release at that time. Although ‘Kanchhi’ has more publicity because of the sympathy towards Shweta, the widow of late Shree Krishna Shrestha, Chhabi’s movie can’t be undermined. Known as one of the top producers in the movie industry, most of Chhabi’s movie are successful.
Talking about the rescheduling, Shweta told, “I din’t want to clash with another movie like that. When I tried to contact the ‘Kri’ team they didn’t respond. Then, I decided to change the date.”
‘Kanchhi’ is directed by the director of ‘Kohinoor’, Aakash Adhikari. The movie features Dayahang Rai and Shweta Khadka in leading role.
It is a myth that multiple film releases on the same day hurt the producer. I reached to the conclusion after a bit of research on the history of such releases in the past.
After I wrote the news about the two new and highly awaited movies – Anmol KC’s ‘Kri’ and Shweta Khadka’s ‘Kanchhi’ releasing on the same day for the Valentine Day of 2018, I thought about the benefits and loss to the producers by such releases. Apart from my personal analysis the research on the history of film releases also supported the notion that – good films are successful no matter how many films release on that day. Bad films don’t get any viewers even if they get solo-release slots.
Before I go deep in case studies, here is a video report on the issue:
Nepali Movie – Kohinoor Starring – Shree Krishna Shrestha, Sweta Khadka etc. Director – Aakash Adhikari
The last movie of Shree Krishna Shrestha was produced by Shree Krishna himself. The movie was released a day before Shree’s death.
A presentation of Nepa Movies, ‘Kohinoor’ is the second movie of Shree Krishan Shrestha as a producer. Shree Krishna’s debut movie as producer and debut movie of Sweta Khadka ‘Kaha Bhetiyala‘ became a super hit movie. The affair between Sweta and Shree started in the movie and converted into marriage recently. The movie written and directed by Aakash Adhikari is jointly produce by Sweta, Shree Krishna, Shankar Shrestha and Chandra Prasad Shrestha.
The movie features music of Shambhujit Baskota, choreography of Basanta Shrestha, action of Rajendra Khadgi, cinematography of Raju Bikram Thapa and editing of Banish Shah. The script and dialogue is written by Ram Thapa and the lyrics are written by Kiran Kharal, Dr. Krishnahari Baral, Sundar Shrestha and Aakash Adhikari.
The release date of upcoming movie of Anmol KC ‘Kri’ has been finalized for Magh 26 (February 9). The date is the same date in which, Shweta Khadka’s comeback movie ‘Kanchhi’ was previously finalized. It these two movies are released in the same day, it would be a huge clash for them as both of them are the most awaited movies of the current time.
I had prepared a video report of Shweta’s movie ‘Kanchhi’ yesterday about how the song of the movie is setting record viewership.
The release date of ‘Kri’ was was announced by the producer Subash Giri in Facebook after the completion of the shooting of the movie in Pokhara. Continue reading

UPDATE: Dashain has finished today. I collected 100s of photos of celebrities. But, posting them in the page would not be that much interesting to the most of the site visitors. So, I collected the photos of 40+ Nepali actress celebrating Dashain this year and prepared a video (I deleted the video – nobody watched it).
I also prepared a video about the fist Dashain of two Miss Nepal sons. In addition to the sons of Jharana Bajracharya and Malvika Subba, the daughter of actress Richa Ghimire also celebrated her Dashain for the first time in her life.
