Is Priyanka Karki killing herself?

One of the top and busiest actress of Nepali film industry Priyanka Karki is a workaholic. She is always working and she has no shortage of work either. But, being too much active has its toll. According to a new report, Priyanka Karki has fainted again in the shooting sets of a music video. That was at least, the fourth time, Priyanka had passed out in public in the last few years.

Miss Chitwan 2017 is Suman Gurung, gets wild card entry in Miss Nepal 2017

In the third edition of Miss Chitwan beauty contest, held in Chitwan on March 24, 2017, Suman Gurung was selected to wear the Miss Chitwan 2017 title. After winning the crown, Gurung gets the direct entry to participate in Miss Nepal 2017 contest to be held in near future. (Application for Miss Nepal 2017 has recently been called.)

The third Miss chitwan, Gurung, was crowned by the reigning Miss Nepal 2016, Asmee Shrestha. Suman was selected from a pool of 28 contestants. After winning the title, Suman was awarded with Yamaha Fashino Scooter, cash prize and a free entry into Power House Gym.

The first runner up of the contest is Manisha Bhattarai, second runner up is Suvekshya Sharma, the third runner up is Sujita Neupane and Urusha Adhikari was selected to be the fourth runner up.

Is Priyanka Karki to be blamed on the Paramita RL Rana and Ayushman Desraj breakup ?

The affair between the ‘Chapali Height 2’ debut actors Paramita RL Rana and Ayushman Desraj Shrestha had been one of the most talked about affair in the town. But, after three-years-long affair, these two love birds have chosen to walk in separate paths. According to latest news, Paramita and Ayushman have confirmed that the relationship has come to the end. Ayushman reportedly has found another unknown girl. In an interview to an online magazine, Paramita has told that they have decided to focus more on their career and stop seeing each other. The magazine claims that it has been weeks they haven’t seen each other.

When I checked their instagram profile, I also found that both Paramita and Ayushma have also removed the photos of each others.

Why was Barsha Raut honoured by the Film Artist Association of Nepal (FAAN)?

The Film Artists Association of Nepal (FAAN) has honoured some artists and journalists in the Nepali film industry in its 15th annual general meeting held on March 13, 2017. Although the prime minister Puspa Kamal Dahal, Prachanda was supposed to be the the chief guest of the event, he couldn’t make it and a minister distributed the award instead.

On the annual general meeting of the Film Artists Association of Nepal (FIA) actress Barsha Raut was given a honorary certificate for her contribution to the Nepali film industry. In the certificate she is praised for lively acting and establishing herself as a good actress in the industry in a short time. The certificate titled “Nepal Chalachitra Kalakar Sangh New Artist Certificate of Encouragement – 2073” was awarded to Barsha on Falgun 30, 2017.

Bhuwan KC embraces Jiya KC in a Holi 2017 photo (Full history of affair)

A new revelation in the relationship between actress Jiya KC and Bhuwan KC – Bhuwan is seen embracing Jiya in a Holi 2017 photo. In the photo shared by Jiya KC, it is quite apparent that the couple had applied Holi colours in privacy to each other, before participating in the group celebration.

Analysis of the holi colours on Bhuwan KC and Jiya KC:

Bhuwan has neatly applied purple colour on Jiya KC’s nose and cheek. Red and green colours are applied on her forehead. Jiya has applied red colour on Bhuwan’s forehead and nose, purple on his left cheek and on his nose, green on his right cheek and nose. They have neatly and strategically applied the colours on each other. Jiya has taken much care to apply it in symmetry where as, colour on Jiya seem to have been applied in a little rough manner. They booth look happy. May be because of photo filter, Bhuwan KC looks very young to his actual age of more than 50 years.

7 Years in 5 Minutes, Rekha Thapa Holi highlights from 2010 to 2017

I have compiled a video of the Holi celebration of Rekha Thapa from 2010 to the last year’s Holi, Holi 2016. As the Holi 2017 is approaching (the festival is on March 12, 2017) I looked back to the history and compiled the list so that I can update it with the new information on the current Holi. I will share the updated video on or after March 12. The following video lists:

  • Rekha Thapa’s Holi in 2010 – Fun filled Holi celebration with Ayush Rijal at Namaste Nepal. That was before Rekha divorced Chhabi Raj Ojha.
  • Holi in 2011 – Video and photos of the celebration at Karishma’s home at Godawari. Almost all the celebrities in the Nepali film industry had gathered in the holi celebration.
  • Holi in 2012 – Video of Rekha dancing with others while Rajesh Payal Rai sang.
  • Holi in 2013 – Holi celebration with ‘Hamesha’ actor Sabin Shrestha and others.
  • Holi in 2014 – This year, Rekha Thapa was busy in the shooting of ‘Himmatwali’. One of the songs in movie was shot during Holi featuring holi colours.
  • Holi in 2015 – Rekha celebrated Holi with actresses Priyanka Karki and Keki Adhikari at Red Studio.
  • Holi in 2016 – At that time, Rekha was promoting her movie ‘Rampyari’. So, she participated in almost all of the major Holi celebration parties in Kathmandu to promote her movie. She also went to Karishma’s residence, Red Studios and other places.

What are 7 Unmarried Miss Nepal doing these days?

After two Miss Nepal got married last year (in 2016), only seven out of 21 Miss Nepal are still unmarried. Miss Nepal 2009, Zenisha Moktan and Miss Nepal 1997, Jharana Bajracharya got married in 2016. Another Miss Nepal, Miss Nepal 1995, Sumi Khadka also married in 2015. The only two remaining Miss Nepals from the 1990s got married in the last two years. The year 2016 had been special as:

  • All the Miss Nepal of 1990s from Miss Nepal 1994 to 1999 are married after the marriage of Jharana in 2016 and Sumi in 2015.
  • All the Miss Nepal of 2000s got married after Zenisha Moktan got married in 2016.
  • All the Miss Nepal of the 2010s are unmarried.

Jhamak Ghimire biopic, Jiwan Kanda ki Phool premiered

The movie made on the life story of popular literary figure, Jhamak Ghimire, has been premiered in a program held in Kathmandu on March 6, 2017. The movie was premiered by Jonta Club Kathmandu – on the International Women’s Day.

The movie produced and directed by Binod Bista is an unique movie of a literately figure who is disabled and writes by her foot. Jhamak Ghimire, born in 1980 in Dhankuta wrote ‘Jiwan Kanda Ki Phool’ by her left foot. The book had won the prestigious Madan Puraskar.

Who is Jhamak Ghimire?

Disabled by birth, Jhamak Kumari Ghimire, is awarded the Madan Puraskar 2067 BS (2011) for her book Jeevan Kanda Ki Phool (Is Life a Thorn or a Flower?). She was the second only female writer to receive the award after another woman writer Parijat received the award in 1965.

Born in July of 1980 in Kachide village development of Dhankuta district with cerebral palsy and has to write with her left foot. Ghimire had started writing with her left foot since she was 15 years-old.

Who are the new actors in Darpan Chhaya 2 – Shraddha Prasai, Sahara Karki and Puspal Khadka?

Three new actors are debuting in the sequel of the hit movie ‘Darpan Chhaya’ named ‘Darpan Chhaya 2’. The movie doesn’t have the original star cast and the director Tulsi Ghimire also says that the two movies aren’t linked with each other. The movie ‘Darpan Chhaya 2’ is going to release on Falgun 16, 2073 BS (March 10, 2017).

Hot actress Aditi Budhathoki featured in a Punjabi music video, Kri shooting yet to start

The model Adhiti Budhathoki is going to debut in an upcoming Nepali movie ‘Kri’ opposite to Anmol KC. The model struggling in Mumbai had agreed to be featured in ‘Kri’ because of the popularity of Anmol KC and the success of all of his previous movies.

As Aditi lives in India, not much of her activities are released in Nepali media. Although she hasn’t been successful in being featured in big screen movies in India, she has done some music videos there. Aditi is featured in a Punjabi music video of a singer named Sandeep. (The music video is attached at the end of this post)

Aditi’s co-actor in ‘Kri’, Anmol KC,is keeping low profile while in preparation for the movie. Anmol has been away from media eyes for almost a year (with occasional surprise appearances). Aditi in the other hand is living in India and is quite active in social media. She occasionaly share hot photo of herself in Instagram. The scantly clad photos, attract a lot of comments and interaction. I have collected some of the photos to share with the xnepali viewers.

Who is Aditi Budhathoki?

Originally from Damak, Jhapa, Aditi’s home in Kathmandu is at Sinamangal. She mostly lives in Mumbai and works as a fashion model. A Bachelors degree holder in Information Technology, Atiti’s mother, Puspa Budhathoki, is also a fashion designer.

10 NRN Actresses in Nepali movie industry

I wrote an article last year – 7 NRN Actresses in Nepali movies, Shristi Shrestha to Meruna Magar. Now, when I go back and read the article, I realize that I had failed to define what NRN actually mean. That is a very crucial factor to determine who is NRN and who is not.

Who is a Non Resident Nepali (NRN) actress?

The term Non Resident Nepali (NRN) is very loosely used in practice. Nepali citizen who go temporarily to foreign countries to work or study are often referred as NRN. If that were the case a lot of Nepali actresses can be termed NRN because, actress Priyanka Karki, Nisha Adhikari, Ashishma Nakarmi etc. had studied in the USA and had lived there for a while. Reecha Sharma had also gone to a foreign country for a training. A lot of other actresses have gone to India for training or work. We have a lot of Indian actresses in Nepali film industry. We don’t consider actresses like Niruta Singh, Tripti Naadkar, or Sushmita KC as foreign or NRN actresses, although they have their parental home in India and might be carrying an Indian passport.
