Bhuwan KC announced Karodpati 2 on his birthday

Actor Bhuwan KC announced the making of the sequel of his movie ‘Karodpati’ named ‘Karodpati 2’ on his birthday. The movie will feature his son Anmol KC in the leading role.

16 new movies to premier in the Ekadeshma Film Festival

In a short films festival, Ekadeshma Film Festival, 16 new Nepali films are going to premier. The detailed program schedule of the film festival was unveiled in a press meet held in Kathmandu on Sunday.

The film festival organized by Underground Talkies starts on September 27 and runs through September 29, 2013 in QFX Kumari, Kamalpokhari. In the festival, 26 Nepali and foreign films are going to be featured in three main categories – Nepali Section (Phoolko Mala), Manhattan Section (Hirako Mala), and Student Section (Sunko Mala) in QFX Kumari and Sarbanam Theater. The winner of Nepali Section winner will be awarded Rs. 30,000 cash prize and free post production facilities. The winner of Student Section will receive Rs. 20,000 in cash prize. The selection of the winner will be based on the votes of the viewers of the movies.

Bindaas 2 poster withdrawn after protest by the actress Anisha Gurung

This is like a scripted story in case of the director Raju Giri‘s film making. He designs hot poster without the consent from the actress and releases in the wild. The public responds to it for being hot and vulgar. There is a bit of tussle between the actress and the director before he decides to withdraw the poster.

 

The strategy has worked for Giri so far and he has repeated it in his upcoming movie ‘Bindaas 2’. Actress Anisha Gurung and her family objected the poster of Anisha featured on the poster. After a tussle and negotiation, Giri has agreed to remove the poster from the promotion. Satisfied Anisha will be promoting the movie actively.

Details of Aryan Sigdel’s movie November Rain announced

In a program held in Kathmandu Aryan Sigdel and the team announced the details of his debut movie as a producer. The movie named ‘November Rain’ will be directed by the director of ‘I am Sorry’, Dinesh Raut, and will feature Aryan, Namrata Shrestha and a new actress Chhulthim Gurung in lead roles.

Censor Board eyes Shushma Karki’s tattoo on breast

Time again Nepal’s Censor Board is known for acting on the baseless intuition of it’s members. As many of their decision are not based on facts, a protest or judicial decision help them to change their decision. In a latest case, the Board has decided that the tattoo of sun on actress Sushma Karki‘s breast is against patriotic norms.

The decision was made while censoring a movie featuring Sushma in an item dance in her upcoming movie ‘Rajniti’. Although the movie was awarded a PG certificate, the Board has asked the film makers to remove the portions of the movie featuring the actress’ tattoo.

It was not the first time Sushma has shown the tattoo in movies. The posters of her movie ‘Bindaas’ had her featuring the tattoo. But, the Censor Board hadn’t objected on the tattoo at that time.

Bindaas 2 poster – another stolen poster from Hindi movie features actress Anisha Gurung without clothes

Nepali actress Anisha Gurung is debuting in Nepali movie industry in ‘Bindaas 2’. The film makers have copied the concept of Hindi film ‘Nasha’ in the latest poster of the movie. In place of Indian hot model Poonam Pandey, ‘Bindaas 2’ poster features Anisha. In the poster, Anisha is featured covering sensitive parts of her body by placards.

‘Bindaas 2’ director Raju Giri is known for having problems with actresses in his previous movies – ‘Bindaas’, ‘Chandrawati’, and ‘Rakshya’.

Movie Review – Hostel

Nepali movie ‘Hostel’ was released on August 30 in theaters all over Nepal. The movie is produced by Sunil Rawal under Durgish Films. The movie features the friendship of three characters played by Anmol KC, Salon Basnet and Gaurav Pahadi. Actresses Rista Basnet and Prakriti Shrestha are also featured in important characters in the movie. Although the movie is advertised as a college love story, it is more about friendship and relationships. The movie is directed by Hemraj BC.

Story

The movie is the story of Aditya Bikram Rana (Anmol KC), Junge (Salon Basnet) and Shree (Gaurav Pahadi) – three medical college students living in a hostel. Aditya is from a rich family, Junge is from a medium income family and Shree’s background is not clear in the movie. They go through every ups and downs a young student goes through hostel life. There is love, tragedy, betrayal, friendship, family relationship, classroom, hostel warden and so on.

Himgyap Tasi to make Simalko Phool

After the completion of his debut movie ‘Bhimdutt’, director Himgyap Tasi has announced his next movie – ‘Simalko Phool’. The script of the movie is written by Pratap Subba.

Himgyap is planning to have film students from USA and Canada to be featured in main roles in the movie. The names of the actors aren’t finalized yet. The movie is being produced by a NRN, Anuradha Shah. She was also the producer of Tasi’s last movie ‘Bhimdutt’.

In media, sex sells farming doesn’t – Binita Baral

Actress Binita Baral has started a new type of business, organic farming. After starting a business of organic farming in June, she has realized that the Nepali media doesn’t care about the betterment of society. When she talked about sex, everybody wrote about her statement. But now, when she talks about farming and agriculture, nobody cares. Soongava selected to participate in Oscars Awards

Nepali movie made on the love story of lesbian couple, ‘Soongava : dance of the orchids’ was selected to represent Nepal in the world’s most prestigious film awards, Oscars Awards. The movie will compete in the Best Foreign Movies category.

In the race to participate in the 86th Academy Awards ‘Soongava’, ‘Sanguro’, ‘Shirish ko Phool’ and ‘Badhshala’ were selected in the first step. A committee led by Bimal Poudel and having Laxminath Sharma, Pradeep Upadhaya, Raju Bikram Thapa and Lokendra Parajuli as members has selected ‘Soongava’ to go to the Awards.
