The President distributed National Film Awards (winners list)

The National Film Award was held at the President’s residence, Shital Niwas. In the ceremony various awards were handed over to the movies released in the last four years.

After receiving the award of Best Actress for her role in ‘Masan’ Neeta Dhungana said, "National Award is not about nominations , popularity , lead role , or something its totally about the work that an artist does whether the artist has done side role or main role , 5 scenes or 50 scenes."

Rhythm bagged BO Film Award 2071, Rekha Thapa and Jiwan Luitel best actors

In Box Office Film Award ceremony was held on May 18, 2014 in Kathmandu Bikash Acharya‘s movie ‘Rhythm’ bagged the best movie award. Bikash was also awarded the best director award for the movie. Actor Jiwan Luitel was also awarded the best actor award for his role in the movie.

Actress Rekha Thapa was awarded Public Choice Award and Best Actress Award for her role in ‘Kali‘. ‘Mokshya’ director, Prabin Shrestha was awarded the Best Debut Director. New Actor, New Actress and Supporting Actor were awarded to Anmol KC, Prakriti Shrestha and Salon Basnet respectively for their role in ‘Hostel‘. The movie was also awarded the Public Choice Award.

D Cine Award – Rekha Thapa and Jiwan Luitel best actors

Nepali actress Rekha Thapa has won the best actress award in HTV Filmykhabar D Cine Award. Rekha was awarded the award for her role in her movie ‘Lanka’. The best actor award was awarded to Jiwan Luitel for his role in ‘Notebook’. In the best movie category, ‘Rhythm’ was awarded the best in the year.

Rhythm completes 51 days in theaters

Friday release – Rhythm, Bardaan and Paltan

Three new movies have released in theater today (on March 8). Two of them, ‘Rhythm’ and ‘Paltan’ were released in Kathamndu and the third movie ‘Bardaan’ was released only in theaters out of Kathamndu after a mutual agreement with the other two. ‘Bardaan’ will release in Kathamndu on March 15.

Rhythm

Written and directed by Bikash Acharya, ‘Rhythm’ is made on a love story. The musical movie features Jiwan Luitel, Wilson Bikram Rai, Sweta Bhattarai, Nir Shah, Nishma Ghimire and Sohit Manandhar in main roles. The movie made on One Time banner is produced by Pradeep Dahal.

Rejina Upreti’s Bardaan release in Kathmandu pushed to 15 March

The release date of Rejina Upreti‘s first movie as a director ‘Bardaan’, is changed after discussion with the film makers of ‘Rhythm’ and ‘Paltan’.

In mutual understanding, Rejina had agreed to delay the release of the movie by a week in Kathmandu. If the movie were released on March 8 it would have to be constrained to 9 theaters. After the delay, the movie will be screened in 25 theaters. The movie will however release on March 8 in 30 theaters out of Kathmandu.
