Rajesh Hamal, the superstar of Nepali cinema, has acted in a music video of singer Nisha Sunar. Rajesh is acting in the song titled ‘Timi Gayeu Timi Sangai…’, in Nisha’s upcoming music album ‘Solo’. The singer, Nisha Sunar, is also acting in the music video.
The music video is being shot at Sarangkot, in Pokhara. Nisha has previously acted in ‘Pan ma parag chha…’ with another movie star, Bhuwan KC. She had also acted with Shiva Shrestha in ‘Item dance…’ Nisha has also acted with another movie star, Dilip Rayamajhi, in ‘Timro Man Ta…’.
Nisha Sunar started her musical career with professional singing at Venus Restaurant at Nagarkot.
Director Deepak Rayamajhi is directing a new movie named ‘Chadai Aau Hai’, scheduled to start by the end of the month. The movie is based on a foreign-bound Nepali youth. The movie will feature new faces like Neeta Dhungana, Neha Niraula, Usha Kharel, Suman Singh, Ayub KC, Ganesh Upreti, and RP Panta.
Deepak, popular for making love story movies like Yug Dekhi Yug Samma, Yo Maya Le Lau na Satayo, Angalo Angaloma, Hamro Milan Kahile Hunchh, Love Story 066, will direct a movie of a social theme for the first time.

Living together without marriage is a very new trend in Nepali society. Although, such trend is fairly common in developed countries, our traditional society still raises eyebrows on such couples.
In the US almost half of young adults aged 20-40 are cohabiting instead of getting married. Statistics show that cohabitation has increased nearly 1,000 percent since 1980, and the marriage rate has dropped more than 40 percent since 1960 in the US. However, our Nepali society still frowns on premarital sex and prefers arranged marriages. Although more young, unmarried couples are choosing to live together in cities they prefer to remain anonymous.
The bold Bollywood actress/model, Sherlyn Chopra, is usually surrounded by controversies. In a recent news, Sherlyn was banned from the micro blogging site Twitter. It is told that Sherlyn Chopra has been banned from posting her images on Twitter.
It was in May that Sherlyn made news when she posted black-and-white photos of hers, sans clothes, in Twitter (@SherlynChopra). The media portrayed her as the first Bollywood babe to bare it all in front of camera, and the first to make it public too.
The photo was taken by her friend Vishal Saxena in which Sherlyn wrote the description: “My best friend shot this pic last week. Itz a raw file. I personally feel it needs no air-brushing.â€
In the recently completed marriage ceremony, Manisha Koirala had worn different custom designed dresses and diamond jewelries made for different occasions.
On the first day of marriage, Manisha wore yellow saree with diamond ear-tops and a ‘huge’ matching necklace. The personal makeup artist of Manisha, Atul Kadam, did the makeup to match the jewelries and the dress she was wearing.
The first female director in Nepali movie industry, Suchitra Shrestha, is making a new movie “Khai ko Kasko†under her direction. The movie, produced under the banner of Jai Shree Mai Bhagabati Films P. Ltd., will be based on the story of children living on roads.
Khai Ko Kasko will feature Rajesh Hamal, Roshani KC, Hiuwala Gautam, Sunil Thapa, Sunil Shrestha, and Pratistha Prasai, among others. The musical sores were created by Bikash Chaudhari and shooting is done by Ratna Karki.
The World Cup football is one of the most sought after international games in Nepal. There was an outcry when Nepal government decided to increase the load shedding hours from 42 hours to 54 hours per week on June 12, 2010. The cable operators have been switching off all the sports channels and only one Nepali TV broadcaster is allowed to telecast the games live.

A film based on Tamang Community in Nepal, “Driver Chyangba†wwill start shooting ina couple of weeks. The movie will be directed by Sujan Lama, shot by Ratna Karki.
Driver chyangba will feature Rajesh Hamal, Bijaya Lama, Dawa Finjo, Bijaya Pakhrin, Kamal Lama, Bhagyaman Tamang, Tirtha Kumar Lama, Soni Lama, and Sapana Glan. The songs are written by Dipendra Dong and Sujan Lama, music by Bishwo Dong and Hem Waiba. The movie is being produced by Chanda Films Production.
Nepali movie ‘Biratako Chino’ is going to be premiered on August 1, 2010 by Real and Real International in Sydney, Australia. The movie will be featured in other cities later.
The movie is produced and directed by Shankar Ghimire. Featured actors in the movie are Richa Ghimire, Rejina Upreti, Suman Singh, Biraj Bhatta, Ranjana Sharma, Dhruba Dutta, Kalyan Ghimire, Sushil Pokharel , and Sovita Simkhada, among others.

An unbranded, so called laptop, costing Rs. 6,500 (less than US $88 in today’s conversion rate) is going to be on sale, starting July 1, 2010, in an information technology fair to be held in Kathmandu.
Information Communication & Technology Association of Nepal (ICT) is going to organize the 2010 edition of the Info Trade Fair at Exhibition Hall, Bhrikuti Mandap, Kathmandu on July 1. The third mega event of information, communication and technology will run till July 5.
The notebook will be powered by ARM VT8505 processor, 128 MB RAM, 2 GB storage capacity. It uses card readers and pen drives for additional storage needs. The laptop will feature Windows CE operating system, WiFi for internet browsing. The battery however can only run for a maximum of two hours – not enough for the load shedding we have in Nepal.
The event will have 12 pavilions and 110 stalls to display various products and services on information and communication technology. The gadgets on display in the event include desktops, laptops, mobile phones, iPods, DVDs, Pen Drives, printers, and many other electronic gadgets.

It was an open secret till date. Both Nikhil Upreti and Sanchita Luitel had told that they were married and Nikhil had gone to Mumbai to live with Sanchita. It was only Nikhil’s first wife, Kopila, who refused to accept the truth. Due to the sympathy towards Kopila Upreti and their young kid, people wished that Nikhil was in vacation in Mumbai and will return back soon.
Nikhil decided to close the chapter by writing a letter to a newspaper, Samacharpatra, in Nepal, explaining how and when he married Sanchita Luitel. He also told that he is living with Sanchita in a flat in Mumbai.
A worldwide video challenge organized by the US government is won by a Nepali youth, Anup Poudel of Kabhrepalanchowk.
Anup’s video “Democracy is Black†was selected the winner among 2,200 participants from 89 countries around the world. The 1minutes 30 second video explains the meaning of democracy.
Anup has defined democracy by using four colors to represent unity, freedom, peace and love. When the four colors are mixed together the resulting color, black, is what Anup thinks, is democracy.
The tallest Shiva statue in the world, constructed on the financial support of Kamal Jain, is complete and is open for worshiping. The statue is constructed at Chhitpol-5, Kailaskut hill in Bhaktapur.
During the unveiling, a helicopter of Fishtail Air was throwing flowers on the statue from above.
The construction took 6 years and involved 100 Nepali and skilled labors from India. The construction of foundation alone took two years. To protect the statue from natural factors like sun, wind, and rain, it is coated with zinc. It is further coated with copper on top of zinc coating. According to Kamal Jain, the outer cover of the statue contain 6000 kgs of zinc and copper.
The Wedding Reception of the marriage of Manisha Koirala with Samrat Dahal was full of well known Nepali leaders and Bollywood actors. The party also proved to be a meeting ground of the leaders of different political parties in Nepal.
The party started shaping up in the Soltaee Crown Plaza from 6PM. In the start, the family members of Manisha and political leaders arrived in the party. The place was so crowded that it took about half an hour in line to reach Manisha to hand over the gifts and offer their wishes to the newly married couple.
