Jazzmandu Kathmandu Jazz Festival 2012 is beginning on November 1. This Surya Nepal Jazzmandu 2012 will take place from Nov 1 to 7 in various venues in Kathmandu Valley.
On Nov 1, the venue is Kathmandu Jazz Conservatory, Jhamsikhel. On Nov 2, the venues are Moksh (Jhamsikhel), House of Music (Thamel), Bhumi (Lazimpat) and Mannys (Jawalakhel).

23 years old Sanish Shakya, height 6 ft 2 inches, from Kuleshwor won ‘Manhunt International Nepal 2012′ title at the final event of male model contest held at Army Officer’s Club on Friday. Likewise, 25 years old Dr. Dikpal Karki, height 6 ft, from Nepalgunj and 19 years old Bikesh Shrestha, height 5 ft 8 inches from Pharping won the first runner up and second runner up respectively.
Out of 12 participants, eight were short listed for the semi final round in which jury asked them questions. Five finalists, Sanish, Dikpal, Sandip Karki, Deepak Bhatta and Bikesh were selected in the semi final round on the basis of their performance. President of Image Channel, R K Manandhar asked these five finalists to write about their social commitment and responsibility as the winner of Manhunt International Nepal 2012.

A massive fire has broken out at the factory of Chaudhary Group Electronics, located in Satungal at around 5:30 pm today. The main cause of fire is not known but, it is suspected to be caused by an electronic short circuit.
Five fire brigades, local water suppliers and police personnel are trying to control the fire. Apart from water, fire retarding gas is also used to control the fire for the last 4 hours without much success. Occasional sounds of blast of electronic product like TV are heard from time to time. The hit Nepali movie ‘Saayad’ is a presentation of Durgish Film by Turgish Thapa. In addition to directing the movie, Suraj Subba has also written the script. The movie released in 2012 became a hit movie and establish Samyam Puri, the son of popular film director Narayan Puri, a new star in Nepali film industry. It’s again good news to all Nepalese that Supriya Maskey, 12 years old Nepali girl succeed in achieving the International Title of Senior Categorized, “Teen Miss World 2012†in the 12th edition of Little Miss World beauty contest. The contest was held in Antalya, Turkey from 30 September -06 October 2012.
Last year in 11th edition of the same contest, Bipaswi Poudel won the main title, Little Miss World 2011. This year, 10 years old – Sofia Kutsenko from Ukraine bag the title “Little Miss World 2012â€.
Supriya was accompanied to the contest by Deependra Ratna Shakya, Executive Director of Nepalese Council and National Director of Little Miss World, Fashion Center Europe. A movie named ‘Red Waistcoat’ is registered for production in the Film Development Board to be produced under Sagun Films by producer Rajendra Tripathi. What made this movie special is the budget. The estimated cost of the production of the movie is 10 million Australian dollar, that is about 85 crore in Nepalese rupees.
In an agreement with the director, Manoj Pandit, he will receive a huge sum, Rs 4,75,000 for his contribution to the movie. Pandit told that Tripathi had proposed him for the movie in Shrawan. But, at that time he was busy directing ‘Badshala’.
Pandit told that he has known Tripathi for the last 6 years. So far, Tripathi hasn’t provided the script and told that the movie is to be made on a story of vest (Bhoto) of Rato Machhindranath and it’s theft. Waiting for the script, Pandit is yet to give the consent for the direction. It’s odd how can Tripathi fail to produce script when he has already planned shooting in Australia, Canada and America.
Based on the registration of the the movie Tripathi had applied for visa for the shooting of the movie in Australia and the Australian Embassy had inquired about the registration to the board. Pandit said that the board should have done a background check before the approval of the registration.
Nepali movie ‘Visa Girl’ is releasing on this Friday, October 5, 2012. The movie directed by Prachanda M. Shrestha features Reecha Sharma, Vinay Shrestha, Karma, Raymon Das Shrestha, Saloni Rajbhandari, Menuka Pradhan, Reema Bishowkarma in leading roles. The movie is made on the story of it’s director Prachanda M. Shrestha.
Crew Background
Recha Sharma, the leading character in the movie and the ‘Visa Girl, debuted in Nepali movie industry in 2010 through ‘First Love’. After that, she did some highly successful movies like ‘Loot’ and ‘Highway’. Her TV show ‘Hamro Team’ has also gained thumbs up from it’s viewers.
Vinay Shrestha started as a model and made his debut in ‘Sano Sansar’ and he has studied acting in Mumbai prior to entering into movies. Vinay is seasoned actor and viewers have high hopes from him. Another actor Karma has proved himself from more than a few movies and viewers have high hopes from him too.
Popular model and actress Poojana Pradhan is known as Poojana Stri these days, quite a different name from her original/official identity. Neither Poojana nor Pradhan nor Stri are in her official documents.
Poojana Pradhan actually is Gurung by birth, not Pradhan. Poojana’s mother Uma Pradhan and father Khadga Bahadur Gurung decided to divorce when Poojana was a little kid. When her dad married another woman she started living with the single mom. Being with the Pradhan mom, it never came to her that she has to write Gurung as her last name. Her parents named her Puja in her childhood.

Timeless Paragon Jewelry Fashion Show 2012 presented by Classic Diamond Jewellers was held on 21st and 22nd Sept at Hotel Yak and Yeti, Kathmandu with stunning Nepali and Indian models and Famous Indian Actress Zeenat Aman was the showstopper for this show. Zeenat Aman walked in the ramp in Rehan Shah’s design, the choreographer of the show.
In the first sequence, models presented diamond, ruby and emerald jeweleries in Short Dresses designed by Vivek Upadhyaya.
The second sequence was Cocktail with models in well fitted, cut right, flow and with mesmerizing jeweleries. All the dresses were tube or one shoulder or strings.
The last sequence was Bridal Collection with elegant, attractive dresses along with grand and royal looking jeweleries.

Dev Rana (A Legendary Drummer of Nepal), Robin Tamang (Band: Robin & The New Revolution), Hari Maharjan (Band: Hari Maharjan Project), Iman Shah (Principle: Nepal Music Center), Umes Shrestha (Founder: Ktm Rocks) and some Guest Judges are in panel of judges. Who guest judges will be that have not been clarified yet. According to the event page, there will be Abhaya & The Steam Injuns, Lakhey and Turnkey (India) as guest bands.
Splash pool party event was held on September 15 at Hotel Shahenshah in Basundhara, Kathmandu with entertainment programs; Swimwear fashion show, b boying dance, the eastern stars dance by Reshma Khadgi in Nepali song Saani, live performance by singer Bikash Shrestha and Rapper Boyz magic show by Shujant.
Shruti Baral, Bini Lama, Junu Dawadi and Showstopper Pratima Khatiwoda presented Swimwear Fashion in choreography of Pratima Shrestha. In this event lady DJ ashika also played music and other DJs were ganesh, rob and splash.
According to Iras shrestha, Director of Creative network international (CNI) Nepal, the event was enjoyed by more than 800 people including tourists and the next event will be held at Fun n Food Village Resort in Biratnagar on 20 Ashoj. Iras further added, CNI is organizing such event since 2008 and this is the second event for this year. The first event of this year was held in June 15.
