The movie features Najir Hussain in leading role and a new actress, Namrata Shrestha, opposite to Najir. The director of photography is Narendra Mainali, editor is Nimesh Shrestha. The movie is made on the screenplay and dialogue of Suraj Bhusal and Pratik Gurung. The director has also written the story. The music and the lyrics of the movie are prepared by Anupam Sharma. Anupam has also given voice to the songs. Background socre by Jason Kunwar. The movie was released in September of 2016.

The movie ‘Maun’ is made on a realistic characters seen in the society. It is a story of the love of two deaf and mute characters – Aman, played by Arpan Thapa, and Barsha, played by Namrata Shrestha. Namrata started experimenting with being featured as a disabl character in ‘Maun’ and it got to a new height in ‘Classic’. The new movie ‘Classic’ became one of the best movies of the year 2016, winning every awards of Best Actress for Namrata. This movie is a must see for those who like the new movie.
The story of love between hearing impaired Aman and Barsha is interesting as the story unfolds of Aman’s dark past. While Aman engulf’s himself smoking, Barsha is a free-spirited girl who is believes in achieving something meaningful in her life despite of her disability. For the preperation of this movie, Namrata also had gone through a training on sign language – the mode of communication between the deaf people. We had done a full review of Maun in 2013. In an interview with us, the director Suraj Bhusal told that the movie is ‘a simple love story’.
Two new movies ‘Gaatho’ and ‘Driver Dai’ have released in theatre today, on September 16, 2016. Although, the targeted audience of ‘Driver Dai’ is different from ‘Gaatho’ there is an issue that can affect the business of these movies. The movie released last week, ‘Chhaka Panja’ is still going on strong in all the theatres. These movies will certainly be affected by the popularity of the last week’s release.

The movie scheduled to release on Baisakh 25 (May 8), ‘Hostel Returns’ has been pushed 3 months after the devastating earthquake. The sequel of hit movie ‘Hostel’ (watch ‘Hostel’ here) is one of the highly awaited movie. The movie is made on the story of an engineering college hostel.
According to the producer Sunil Rawal, the moviel will release on Bhadra 4 (August 21). The movie directed by Suraj Bhusal features new actors including Sashi Shrestha, Sushil Shrestha, Swostima Khadaka, Abhaya Baral and Najir Hussein.
The producer of ‘Hostel Returns’, Durgish Films has announced plans to help the children of remote Nepal in their education. According to the producer Sunil Racal, he is planning to help the student by supplying education materials and scholarships to the students. He told that the up to the college level students will be assisted in the ‘Hostel Returns for Education’ campaign.
To promote the campaign, the film production team is planning to visit remote places in Nepal and promote the movie.
Hostel returns is scheduled to release in theatre on Baisakh 25. A part of the money collected from the screening will also be used in the campaign. A sequel of ‘Hostel’, new movie ‘Hostel Returns’ is directed by Suraj Bhusal and features Sushil Shrestha and Shashi Shrestha in leading roles. The movie is made on the story of engineering students living in college hostel.
Nepali movie ‘Maun’ was released all over the theatres in Nepal on September 27, 2013. The movie is jointly produced by Nabin Gauli and Suraj Bhusal, the director. Maun features Arpan Thapa and Namrata Shrestha in lead role. In addition to being the lead actor, Arpan has also written the story of the suspense love story of two deaf people.
‘Maun’ starts at a library where a couple buy a book titled ‘Maun’ written by an other named Barsha (Namrata Shrestha). The couple also meet writer in the café of library where, they reveal the story of Barsha. Barsha is a mute, deaf girl who had returned back to Nepal from United States and meets another deaf guy called Iman (Arpan Thapa) in a personality development workshop. As the time passed, Iman and Barsha fall in love.
Nepali movie ‘Maun’ has released in theater today. Here is the summary of an interview with the director of the movie, Suraj Bhusal, conducted by our representative, Raunak Niraula, yesterday.
Tell us something about your movie ‘Maun’?
– ‘Maun’ is a suspense love story of two deaf people. ‘Maun’ explores the colorful life of deaf people and their love chemistry in the suspense story.
How was the concept of ‘Maun’ conceived?
Nepali actress Namrata Shrestha went to Bal Mandir in Naxal to celebrate her 27th birthday. The event was organized by the team of her upcoming movie ‘Maun’. To celebrate her birthday, Namrata cut the cake and feed the students. The director of ‘Maun’ Suraj Bhusal also feed the cake to the student.
Apart from celebration of Namrata’s birthday, a first look poster of the movie was also released in the program. With a tagline “a loud silence” the love story movie features Arpan Thapa and Namrataa Shrestha in the leading roles. The story and script of the movie is written by Arpan Thapa and is jointly produced by Navin Gauli and the director Bhushal.
Arpan Thapa (‘Dhanda’ fame) and Namrata Shrestha are going to be featured in Suraj Bhusal’s debut directorial venture ‘Moun’. Two lead actors will have romantic role in the movie and it will be the first such role for actor Arpan Thapa.
Before ‘Moun’ Namrata had worked with Arpan in their upcoming movie ‘Chadke’. The upcoming movie will mostly feature theater actors.
