About ‘Bhimdatta’
A historical figure, Bhimdatta, is considered the first martyr of the Western Nepal. The movie about him was released in 2015. (read release news).
The historical biopic movie is made on the life of the revolutionary leader, Bhimdutt Pant. The movie directed by Himgyap Lama ‘Tasi’ features Nawal Nepal in the role of Bhimdatta. Other artists include Nisha Adhikari, Sumina Ghimire, Ramesh Budhathoki, Laya Sangaraula, Rabi Giri etc. The movie is made under the banner of Golden Eye Films. It is shot in the locations in the Western part of Nepal – the place Bhimdutt used to live and work. The cinematographer of the film is Bisnu Kalpit, story is written by Mani Thapa, and script by Shivam Adhikari.
Nepali film – Leela Starring – Malina Joshi, Raj Katuwal, Sanchita Luitel etc. Director – Ramesh Koirala
The movie is given a PG certificate, suitable for all the viewers with parents. The movie features some of the most beautiful actresses in the film industry – Sanchita Luitel and Malina Joshi. Malina was the Miss Nepal of 2011. Sanchita was very successful actress before she eloped with Nikhil Upreti. I had written a trailer review about the film earlier.

The movie was considered one of the most awaited movies in the Nepali film industry because of at least, the following three reasons:
Comeback movie of MaHa. They had returned in the Nepali film industry after about 17 years.
Directed by the director of ‘Jatra’ another hit film.
Script by Deepak Raj Giri, the writer of successful comedy films like ‘Chha Ekan Chha’, ‘Woda Number Chha’, Chhakka Panja’ and ‘Chhakka Panja 2’.
Apart from them, the fans of Paul, Aanchal, and Priyanka were also eagerly awaiting the film’s release. Â As expected, the opening of the film was good. But, there is a risk of over-expectation.
What is ‘Shatru Gate’?
Shatru Gate is a comedy film – with a lot of comedy artists. The family movie features a lot of comedy scenes, serious love story and a collection of funny events. The movie has become special in terms of the star-cast in it. MaHa-duo, Deepak and Deepa and Paul Aanchal are three successful and well known two-member teams in the Nepali film industry. Although Paul and Aanchal association is relatively new, other two have proved themselves in the entertainment industry from their numerous ups and downs.
Actress Richa Sharma has produced her second movie, ‘Sunkesari’ after her production debut by producing ‘Aadha Love’. The movie made in a horror story is shot mostly in Australia. The trailer of the movie was released on March 22, 2018.
The story of the movie is written and is directed by Arpan Thapa. The trailer mostly contains scary scenes from the movie. Lead actor of the movie is not shown in the trailer. There is no song in the trailer either. The movie features Richa Sharma with Sunny Dhakal, Rabindra Jha, Sunil Parajuli, Prenara Thapa and foreign actress Lauren Lofberg.
Horror films in Nepal

Aanchal’s real name is Aanchal Dawadi. She had used Sharma as she liked the surname better than her real surname. Aanchal was born on Chaitra 5, 2054 BS to father Uttam Dawadi and mother Mira Dawadi.
Currently Aanchal in the third year of her bachelor’s degree. Before starting acting, she had worked as a model. The first movie of Aanchal, ‘Nai Nabhannu La 4’ was superhit. It is a surprising announcement by the director Dipendra K Khanal. Ayushman’s ex girl friend and current girlfriend are going to be featured with him in an upcoming movie of the director. The movie titled ‘Changa Chait’ will feature these three in leading roles. In addition to these leading characters, well known actress Reecha Sharma and Sandhya KC will also be featured in the movie.

A movie by Rishi Neupane, Dhanwan features Sushil Chhetri with Samita Giri and Dinesh Sharma. The movie was released in November of 2017 with another film ‘Fateko Jutta’ (read release news). The movie is a presentation of Sangarsha Films by Durga Khadka. D.B. Khadka and Prem Tharu are the producers of the film.

The new movie released in 2017 (read release news) was made in UK. The movie is directed by Prem Lama and features Prem Lama himself in the leading role. Other artists in the movie are Itisha Nembang, Govinda Armaja, Neeta Pun and Deepak Gurung in main roles. The movie made in love story features the music of Suresh Adhikari. The movie however wasn’t successful in box office.
Nepali Film – Chhapamar Starring – Mahendra Mainali, Ghanashyam Timilsina, Samjhana Shrestha etc. Director – Ghanshayam Timilsina ( Jira )
The movie is about Maoist civil war in Nepal. Artists in the movie are Mahendra, Ghanashyam, Bishnu Bhakta Shrestha, Shanta Dev Pant, Dilip Kumar Shrestha, Uttam Bhakta Shrestha and Samjhana Shrestha. Assistant Director Kumar Lama has assisted the director Jira. The make up artists are Sangram Lama and Raju Lama. The equipments and post production was looked after by Kali Gandaki Cine Max. The film is made on the story of Mahendra Mainali and is edited by Rakchhaya KC. The producers of the film are Dhiraj Adhikari and Kabin Adhikari. The director of photography is Keshav Adhikari.
Here is the list of 14 students in the ill fated aircraft from Bangaladesh to Nepal on March 12, 2018. The students had completed their MBBS degree and were returning back to Nepal after the completion of their final exam. They were the 19th batch students of Jalalabad Ragib-Rabeya Medical College and Hospital.

The aircraft arriving from Bangaladesh to Kathmandu had met with an accident in Kathmandu airport.
14 of the passengers were to-be-doctors who had completed their final exam and were returning home from their colleges.
Those Nepali medical students were going to Nepal on a two-month vacation on the completion of their MBBS final examination, at Jalalabad Ragib-Rabeya Medical College and Hospital. They were the 19th batch students of the medical college.

The US Bangla aircraft had slipped out of the airport.
There were 71 people abroad. Out of them, only 14 people were rescued alive. 24 people died at the airport and 9 others died in different hospitals in Kathmandu.

14 of the passengers were from travel industry who had gone to Bangladesh on the invitation of the new company’s new flight to the country: Attached is the photo taken from Sajana Devkota’s page (credit Pahilopost), Sajana herself died in the plane crash along with two others. Nine out of 12 from the group are fighting for their lives. Two other who are confirmed dead include Harishankar Poudel and Prabin Chitrakar.
This week three movies were released on Friday. Nawal Nepal directed movie ‘Mangalam’, Yam Thapa’s movie ‘Hurrey’ and Ganesh Dev Pandey directional movie ‘Ganja Baja’. Out of the three movies, two of them are comedy genre movie and another social and love story movie. Because of the success of comedy films in these days, a lot of producers have been producing comedy films. It seems, people are more inclined towards non-comedy films. Two of the most recent successful movies – ‘Kri’ and ‘Kanchhi’ both were non-comedy films.
According to reports, ‘Mangalam’ has received a lot of viewers. The film produced by one of the most successful producers of Nepali film industry, Chhabi Raj Ojha, is being supported by his ex-wife Rekha Thapa. Rekha also told that it was her “own film.” She also appreciated the work of the director, two new actors and actress Shilpa Pokharel. Other viewers have also told that the movie is heart touching. Rekha says, ‘Even if you have never cried watching films, this film will make you cry.” But, I think, Rekha didn’t sound any critical and the appreciation remark seem to be motivated by something other than the film itself.
Chhabi Raj Ojha has told that he had tried to capture the multiplex cinema market with ‘Loafer’. But, the movie failed and this is the second time he has attempted to attract young audience and has been quite successful.

Regarding the two comedy movies, ‘Hurrey’ has got more viewers than that in ‘Ganja Baja’. The producer of ‘Hurrey has told that those who watched the film have liked it. The trailer of the film has got almost a million viewers:
The song ‘Theki Ma Dahi’ has received in excess of 2 million views.
About Ganja Baja, the movie didn’t get much viewers. Those what watch the film belong to the new age kids. The trailer of the film is not much popular in YouTube.
